Poker Dream 7 Vietnam underway! ₫40 Billion (~$1.64M) in guarantees and more up for grabs in Hoi An, Vietnam

 

The last Poker Dream festival of the season is underway at Hoiana Resort & Golf in Hoi An, Vietnam! Cards started flying at 12pm today, September 29, 2023 and will run until October 8, 2023. A total of 23 trophies are up for grabs and ₫40 Billion (~US$ 1.64 Million) in guarantees. Though that figure may seem high, brace yourselves for what’s to come.

Last year, during the brand’s first visit to this location, the venue was jam-packed daily resulting in record breaking fields and record breaking prize pools. It ultimately paid out a jaw-dropping ₫94.5+ Billion (~US$ 3.8 Million), the largest by any brand for the year in Vietnam.

For the next ten days, Poker Dream will attempt to smash those figures with a thrilling lineup and a ₫20 Billion guaranteed Main Event. Buy ins range from ₫4,000,000 (~S$ 172) to ₫25,500,000 (~US$ 1,100). For high rollers, five events are scheduled with buy ins from ₫30,000,000 (~US$ 1,293) to ₫250,000,000 (~US$ 2,780).

The Vietnam Open ₫2 Billion guaranteed kicked off the festivities with three flights running throughout the day. At the time of posting, Flight A registration closed with 109 entries. Flight B gets underway at 6pm and Flight C (Turbo) at 10:30pm. Buy in is ₫8,000,000 (~US$ 345). 

Already seen in action were Chinese pro Yunsheng Sun, Hong Kong’s Alan Wong, USA’s Duy Ho, and locals Nguyen Quang Huy, Pham Tien Dung. Huyng Ngoc Cuong, and Kyle Bao Diep.

Dream Player of the Year (DPOY) point chasers also seen were race leader You Jun Hong and third ranked Yong Wai Keong. This is the last Poker Dream festival to accrue DPOY points. The eventual champion will be awarded the first-ever DPOY trophy and US$ 15,000 in 2024 Poker Dream credits or a package to the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event.

Newcomers to Poker Dream 7 Vietnam

For newcomers to Poker Dream 7 Vietnam, if you are flying in, the closest airport is Da Nang International Airport. From there, you can hire a taxi or book a Grab to Hoiana Resort & Golf. It takes around 40 minutes to get to Hoiana. Make sure to have the local currency – Vietnamese Dong – no other currencies are accepted. At the event, the organizers will be happy to assist if you need to change additional currency.

Hoiana Resort & Golf is a developing resort area located right on the East Vietnam Sea. The newly built facilities are top-notch with room choices for every type of traveler. Make sure to book your rooms as it is certain to fill up.

This week in particular will be special as it is the Mid-Autum festival. A special Chinese Moon Festival will be held at 9pm on opening day. Snacks and drinks will be served along with mini-games to win some cool prizes.
