After nearly six hours of play, the 113-entry field drew down to its final 14 players led by China’s Zhang Ding. Zhang capped the night with a 525,000 stack, joining the top ranks going into Day 2. Just below him is fellow countryman Chen Kaile with a sizeable 428,000 chip count.

Action on the other table saw Hanusi Mate shove his short stack in with 8h8c and was called by Desimoni Bruno with AcQh. Up for a flip, a roller coaster board Qs6h8dQc6d turned up on the felt which left Hanusi’s flopped set crushed by the river.

The last flight on schedule for the WPT Opener added another 113 entries to the tally, recorded across eight levels of registration. Set to play down to ITM (12.5% of the field), only 15 players are guaranteed a spot into Day 2.


WPT Korea

The last flight for WPT Korea’s first trophy event on schedule, WPT Opener, plays down this evening, running a faster paced gameplay all throughout. Each player starts off with a 25,000 stack, equivalent to 125 BB and is set to course through 20 minute blind levels. The qualifier will conclude once ITM is reached where 1 in 8 players will survive onto Day 2, guaranteed a share of the pot.
