Hernan Jaybee Villa delivers the bubble to set the pace at Day 1A

Filipino Hernan Jaybee Villa closed Day 1A of the Mini Main Event in celebration by knocking out Alok Birewar on the bubble. Limping in from the button, Villa three-bet jammed big blind Birewar’s raise and Birewar snap-called for his entire 30 bb. Though Villa was behind to Birewar’s , he improved on the board to eliminate Birewar and leapfrog to the top of the counts.

The first entry flight of the Mini Main Event drew 283 entries to nearly match the VN₫ 3 Billion guarantee. 35 players bagged up and will have a two night’s break before returning to action on Wednesday, March 26.
