In September, the USOP Hanoi Main Event drew a country record field of 1,336 entries and record prize pool of VN₫ 29,158,200,000 (~$1,212,000). India’s Vishal Ojha emerged victorious to seize a career high payout of VN₫ 4,952,000,000 (~$205,840).

With the brand’s popularity on a consistent rise, and interest very high since the announcement of the festival, players can expect the upcoming USOP Danang Main Event to smash its VN₫ 15 Billion guarantee with the potential to break its own record. South Korea’s Yo Hwan Lim aka BoxeR defeated hot running Taiwanese pro Nevan  Yu Chung Chang at the finals of the Heads Up Challenge for his first ever USOP title and a cool VN₫ 552,900,000 (~$22,930).

For the second time,  the USOP festival included the exciting Heads Up Challenge in the roster. The 64 cap roster attracted 38 players for a prize pool of VN₫1,105,800,000 (~$45,865). Lim’s road to the top began with a match against Bjorn Vuilliomenet. All in on the turn 6s5d4s7d7h, Vuilliomenet had 10s6h draw, Lim had Ad6d top pair that held.

At round 16, the game went deep against Zhiwen Deng, completing with Lim’s AsAc dominating 6h6s. Lim advanced to the quarters which was the bubble round.

Facing Roland Kivi, it ran the max of 12 levels. Lim took the lead with 7c8c pair against AhKs on a board 2h10c6h4d8d. Per TD rules, the player with the most chips at the end of the level earned a spot in the semis. At the closing buzzer, Lim advanced and faced Vitaliya Dubovik.

It was another intense and lengthy grind with both players battling hard for a seat at the finals. For most of the match, Lim was ahead in chips. It ended on a cooler with Dubovik’s 3d3s running into Lim’s KhKd.
