The first Poker Dream 7 Vietnam trophy was claimed by Vietnam’s own Phan Minh Duc at the Vietnam Open event. Phan pocketed a cool ₫402,300,000 (~$16,500). 

It was a patient grind to the top for Phan who was down to 9 bb at 7 handed. After numerous uncalled shoves and three players dropping out, Phan earned his first double up against Adrian Chua with spiking the ace on the river to dust .

At three-handed, Phan grinded to the top then won a big pot against Chua who then fell to Liu Tianyou. Heads up was quick with Phan eliminating Liu in just two hands. The final hand was Phan , Liu , the board was .
