JIPT JEJU News 2024

With live poker booming all over Asia, a new brand has joined the field, the Jeju International Poker Tour (JIPT), organized and hosted by the Korea Hold’em Association. The eight day series is right around the corner, running from April 7 to 14, 2024 at the five-star Jeju Oriental Hotel & Casino in Jeju Island, South Korea. Korean nationals and foreigners are expected to attend including a large contingent of Chinese players.

Jeju International Poker Tour – Main Event

The Jeju International Poker Tour’s best offering is the Main Event highlighted by its ambitious KR₩ 600,000,000 (~USD 444,000) guaranteed prize pool. The event runs April 9 to 14, 2024 with buy in of KR₩ 1,700,000 (~USD 1,260). Players have four chances to try to snatch a piece of the pot and become the first ever JIPT champion.

Jeju International Poker Tour kicks off with JIPT Opener

To get a feel of the new brand and what it has to offer, the Jeju International Poker Tour – JIPT Opener is the way to go. With its affordable buy in of KR₩ 500,000 (~USD 370), two flights are offered both running on opening day, April 7, 2024. For Day 1A, players start with a deep 125 bb stack and blinds increasing at a gradual 30 minute pace. For the evening Day 1B Turbo, blinds increase at a faster 20 minutes.

JIPT Single Day High Roller

High Rollers also have something to look forward to with three Single Day High Roller events scheduled. Buy ins are KR₩ 2,500,000 (~USD 1,900), KR₩ 3,000,000 (~USD 2,220), and KR₩ 4,000,000 (~USD 2,960).

With 22 events lined up, popular No Limit Hold’em favorites are also among the side events such as the NLH Turbo, NLH Bounty, and Hyper Turbo events. For players that seek out Deepstack events, there’s the NLH Deepstack, Megastack Closer, and JIPT Super Stack Closer. Two events to consider are the Jeju Oriental Quest Flight and the Mini Main Flight Event.

Its beauty was formed through volcanic activity, boasting over 360 volcanic cones (oreums) of varying sizes and shapes, creating unique landscapes. With significant erosion, the island features valleys, waterfalls, and stunning coastal cliffs, including the famous Jusangjeolli (columnar jointing) formations that are rarely seen elsewhere on Earth. Needless to say, it is breathtaking in its beauty.

Jeju Oriental Hotel & Casino

Jeju Oriental Hotel & Casino, a 5-star hotel equipped with various amenities such as a casino, sauna, screen golf course, café, and buffet. Located approximately 3.8 km from Jeju International Airport, it takes about 10 minutes by car to reach the hotel. Additionally, the hotel provides free shuttle buses, operating twice a day.
