Poker Dream 12 Jeju Features Huge Main Event Guarantee This September

In July 2022, the Poker Dream brand launched at the Resorts World Genting in the mountains above Kuala Lumpur. More than two years later, one of the most popular live stops in South East Asia is approaching one dozen stops and will be heading to South Korea for the first time.

Poker Dream 12 Jeju is set to take place from September 26 until October 6, 2024, at the Landing Casino on Jeju Island. Many other international tours previously visited the gambling and poker island, but what certainly stands out is the staggering guarantee for the flagship Main Event: 2.8 Billion Korean Won, which equals to approximately $2 Million.

The Poker Dream 12 Jeju Main Event is one of the most ambitious guarantees in the history of live poker in South Korea and Poker Dream, which has only once set the same target amount in Malaysia previously. Numerous starting days are available with the first flight kicking off on September 30 whereas the final chance awaits on October 4.

All survivors then return to their seats to play down to a winner on the final two days of the stop. The same three different buy-in levels as in previous stops are available with price tags of KRW 1,200,000 (USD 879), KRW 1,600,000 (USD 1,173) and KRW 2,400,000 (USD 1,759) available for players to pick from, each of which have different targets to reach the in the money stage between 7.5% and 15%.

As usual, the Dream Bonus for multiple Day 2 qualifications is available at Poker Dream 12 Jeju and players can also take advantage of the Main Event early bird packages. The first 100 registrants can earn two free nights at Landing Resorts, benefit from bubble protection for all Day 1 flights and earn an entry into a lucky draw with two times USD 1,000 tournament credit in Poker Dream 13 up for grabs.

Besides the Main Event, several other key events await to satisfy different buy-in levels throughout the entire schedule. It all kicks off with the Jeju Open, which features four flights on the opening day of the series and a guaranteed prize pool of KRW 100 Million. The same amount is also secured for the following Deepstack Event the following day.

Another highlight on the schedule is certainly the Mystery Big Bounty Event sponsored by Korea Poker Cup, which takes place on September 28 and 29. Four flights play to the money stages, after which the bounties and respective excitement comes into play on the final day. The tournament comes with a KRW 200 Million guarantee and three KRW 900,000 flights as well as a KRW 600,000 flipout heat.

Fans of many chips can look forward to the KRW 100 Million guaranteed Ultra Stack Event #12 on September 29 and 30, followed by Event #37 Monster Stack on October 5 and 6, 2024. Last but not least, the KRW 70 Million guaranteed Mini Main Event goes from start to finish on the final day as well.

As far as high-stakes contests are concerned, there are several dedicated tournaments available with elevated price tags for those with deeper pockets. The two-day Super High Roller takes place on October 2 and 3 with a buy-in of KRW 10 Million (USD 7,328) whereas a Single-Day High Roller follows on October 4, which costs KRW 6 Million (USD 4,397) to enter.

Last but not least, the Mystery Bounty High Roller concludes the series on the final two days of the series on Jeju Island with a buy-in of KRW 5.5 Million (USD 4,031) and a guaranteed prize pool of at least KRW 300 Million.

Among the expected players are five time Triton winner Danny Tang, four time Triton winner Wai Kin Yong, two time Triton winners Aaron Zhang, Xuan Tan, ten time WSOP bracelet holders Erik Seidel, Johnny Chan, and five time WSOP bracelet winner / Poker Dream Vietnam 2023 Super High Roller winner John Juanda.
