Among the newcomers were recently crowned Top Joy Poker Korea (TJPK) Main Event champion Hyeon Ho Shin and India’s Deepak Bothra. During the bubble round, both sat on healthy stacks when they banged heads.

It started as a three-way to the flop that by the turn board Kh10h4d2c, it was down to Bothra and Shin. After a betting round, both were all in on the river 3s. Bothra shipped it with 2d2h set, Shin was eliminated with KsQs two pair. As a result, Bothra bagged up a monstrous 154 bb and will enter Day 2 as overall chip leader.

In addition to Shin’s bust, Nhat Ngo eliminated a player at a separate table for a double elimination on the bubble. All in on a flop As9c6c, Nhat’s AcQc outdrew JdJs, which further improved on the turn Qh and river 2c.
