The U Series of Poker – USOP Danang 2024 festival concluded Day 3 adding another six players to the champions list. The latest winners were Vladimir Litasov, Hwanho Choe, Joshua Figuerres, Chien Chih Weng, Xuan Truong Bui, and Junghyun Lee. Check out their stories down below.
With 15 completed events, the USOP Player of the Series race is well underway. The top two spots remain the same with Yinfei Xiao leading with 875 points and Rungrot Nuannoi with 750 points. Vladimir Litasov scores maiden live title at the USOP Danang 2024 Kickoff Event
USOP Danang 2024 opened its doors with a Kickoff Event featuring a VN₫ 2 Billion guarantee. By the end of the three starting flights, 535 entries was on record for a crushing VN₫ 4.15 Billion prize pool. The largest cut of that juicy pot was claimed by Russia’s Vladimir Litasov after defeating Drasko Boskovic at heads up.

Hwanho Choe takes down the day’s biggest field at Midweek Special
With players continuing to pour in, Day 3 witnessed significant rise in side event attendance. The largest of the day was the Midweek Special with 187 entries on record. This doubled up the prize pool to VN₫ 1,088,300,000 (~USD 43,900). Emerging victorious was Korea’s Hwanho Choe for a payout of VN₫ 270,000,000 (~USD 10,900).
Choe has been on fire since December, nearly winning the APT Hanoi Billions Zodiac Classic event, then earniing a career first live victory at the PokerStars LIVE Manila Megastack Mystery Bounty in January.

Chien Chih Weng comes from behind to win the Mini High Roller
One of Taiwan’s leading female players, Chien Chih Weng aka Maggie Weng came from behind at heads up to win the Mini High Roller for VN₫ 413,300,000 (~USD 16,670). Attracting XX entries, by the ninth hour, notable pro Gab Yong Kim was knocked out leaving Weng and Yasuhiro Waki to duke it out for the title.
Waki opened with the chip advantage and proceeded to grind down Weng, but struggled to close it out. Instead, it took six all in showdowns, with the lead bouncing back and forth, before Weng finally put a nail on it. The final hand was Weng , Waki , board ran .

Maiden live title for Joshua Figuerres at Bubble Rush
Leaving the comfort of homeland Philippines for another attempt at a USOP title was a good decision for Joshua Figuerres. Figuerres outlasted the 35 entry field of the Bubble Rush event, defeating Gabriel Carter at heads up, to capture a career first poker trophy.
