Videos of the Week: It’s Phil Hellmuth’s WSOP, David Williams on Polk’s Podcast, Star-Studded High Stakes Cash Game at Hustlers, Matusow Vlogs & More!

In this article, we deliver you a couple of selected poker videos of the past week.

Phil Hellmuth Wins His 16th Gold Bracelet

It seems that in this year’s World Series, it’s Phil Hellmuth all day every day, then twice on Sunday. The legendary “Poker Brat” first made 3 final table finishes – and exploded into a profane rant at one of them, angering some in the poker community. However, he quickly made everybody forget about the issue, since he won his historic 16th WSOP gold bracelet in the $1,500 No Limit 2-7 Lowball event. You can watch the very moments leading up to his victory with his commentary below. Then, just for good measure, Hellmuth also made a runner-up finish in the $10,000 buy-in Dealers Choice 6-Handed event just a few days later.

Doug Polk and David William on Phil Hellmuth

Speaking of Phil Hellmuth, Doug Polk and his guest David Williams discussed the aforementioned outburst at the $10K Omaha Hi-Lo final table, just before his 16th bracelet. On Polk’s podcast, both the host and the guest agreed that had that been any other person in the world, they would have gotten a harsh penalty, especially for the infamous line “I’m gonna burn this place down”. They bring up the case of Sam Panzica for reference, who received a lifetime ban from the WSOP in 2013, after uttering a very similar comment, only involving an AK-47 rifle. You can take a listen and judge for yourself.

Jonathan Little’s Analysis of Fascinating Roberto Romanello Hand

Taking a break from Hellmuth and the WSOP, Jonathan Little recently posted an interesting video to his popular YouTube channel. In it, he analyzes a hand played by Roberto Romanello against Ryan “the Beast” Riess in the $10,300 partypoker LIVE – Millions UK Main Event from January 2020. Romanello did river trips, however, the situation wasn’t as cozy as it sounds: the board was paired, and the straight and flush draws had already got there! What do you do in such a difficult spot? Value bet your trip Kings, or perhaps even turn them into a bluff?

Star-Studded High Stakes Cash Game at Hustlers

As we’ve seen in the past couple of weeks, the Hustler Casino in Gardena, California has really stepped up their game when it comes to live streamed cash games. And this hasn’t been any truer than this week. They put together a line-up of bona fide poker legends, such as Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, Matt Berkey or Garrett Adelstein. They duked it out for tens of thousands of dollars for 8 hours total for your entertainment in this $200/$400 No Limit Hold’em cash session. Enjoy!

MIke Matusow Vlogs Are Back

Now, let’s get back to the ongoing World Series. 4-time WSOP gold bracelet winner and recent Poker Hall of Fame nominee Mike “the Mouth” Matusow has decided to pick up a camera, and vlog through the WSOP on his signature mobility scooter – which, by the way, he needs less and less thanks to his improving health. His best game, self-admittedly, is Omaha Hi-Lo 8-or-Better, and his favorite event every year is the $10K Omaha8 tournament. This time, alas, he failed to cash. But you can still enjoy his vlog in which – who else – Phil Hellmuth makes a brief cameo.
