Ourgame obtains Exclusive Rights to develop the Word Poker Tour in Asia

China, like many Asian countries, exhibits several signs that point to strong growth in the popularity of poker in the coming years. This lucrative market is attracting envious eyes, both on the side of the big casino operators, who have invested heavily in the most promising areas, such as Macau and Singapore, and the tournament organizers.

In the past three years, the Word Poker Tour has already crept timidly into the Chinese market. A second phase of its development began yesterday through the signing of an ambitious agreement with the company Ourgame International Holdings Limited.

Established in 1998, Ourgame has used its status as a pioneer in the online gaming sector (card games and board games) to build a massive player base and attain Chinese market leader status. Already associated with the World Poker Tour for three years, the company is a natural partner for the conquest of neighboring markets. Though this new agreement will include the exclusive use of the Ourgame logo and the WPT brand in twelve Asian countries (Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Laos, Nepal, Macao, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam), it will also benefit from non-exclusive rights in a future coveted market: Japan. This partnership should theoretically lead to an increase in 2015 of WPT and WPT National tournaments held in Asia. Production of television programs and the launch of free online games are also included in the contract.
