The final day of the 2024 CPG Championship will also see the conclusion of three other key events, Super High Roller, Lucheng Cup, and Sanya Bay Cup. Super High Roller Down To 13 Players
The Super High Roller was still open for registration on Day 2 adding another 59 players for a total of 179 players. This fattened up the prize pool to ~US$ 742,000 with the top 27 earning a portion. Nine levels in, Li Song delivered the bubble with dominating a player’s .
Action continued until the end of Level 22 with 13 players remaining. Along the way WSOP bracelet holder Weiran Pu was eliminated. By bagging time, only Vietnam’s Ngo Khoa Anh was holding the torch for the international players. He ranked sixth in the pecking order with 750,000 (25 bb). Perched up top was Cai Xuanbang with 1,680,000 (56 bb).
Lucheng Cup Down To 18 Players
The Lucheng Cup generated the largest prize pool of all the side events with an impressive 1,002 players building up the pot to CNY 8.19 Million (~US$ 1.1 Million). Day 2 closed with 18 players remaining led by Wendong Li with 3,515,000 (35 bb). Among the returnees, the only international player remaining is Netherlands Tom Verbruggen with 1,015,000 (10 bb).
Sanya Bay Cup Draws 293 Players
293 players jumped in the Sanya Bay Cup which was the last key event of the festival costing players US$ 830 to enter for a prize pool of ~US$ 243,200. After twelve levels, 55 players bagged up with China’s Kong Lingke sporting a substantial stack of 332,000 (110 bb). A few spots down the rung was Singapore’s Ong Jingxiang with a healthy 219,000 (73 bb). Other international players surviving were Joris Michl, Nguyen Quang Huy, Yuri Murakami, Nguyen Ngoc Dai, and Neo Zhi Han.
