The World Poker Tour (WPT) Prime Taiwan concluded another round of thrilling games at the Asia Poker Arena in Taipei City with five players claiming trophies during the Day 6 festivities. The top story was the Mystery Bounty event where Thibaut Blondel captured his first live title and Hao Wai Kim pulling the biggest reward. Here are the highlights and results.

Thibaut Blondel captures maiden live title at Mystery Bounty
Big day for France’s Thibaut Blondel who entered Day 2 of the Mystery Bounty event ranked 82nd out of 87 returnees then walked away as champion. The victory was Blondel’s career first. He pocketed the TWD 1,225,000 (~USD 38,500) top prize and two bounties – runner up and his own amounting to TWD 60,000 – for a total payout of TWD 1,285,000 (~USD 40,190).
At heads up against Yu Jung Lo, Blondel had Lo covered over 2:1 when the final hand was tabled. The board completed , Lo check-called throughout then led out on the river only to face a shove by Blondel. Lo tank-called for his tournament life with
two pair, Blondel dominated and won it with
set.

Mystery Bounty – Day 2 Chip Counts
The Mystery Bounty event was a big one with 692 entries for a prize pool of TWD 10M. 87 players returned in Day 2, each one guaranteed a piece of the TWD 6,712,400 (~USD 210,980) cash pool while all hopes were on pulling the biggest bounty reward of TWD 600,000 (~USD 18,860). That lucky moment was granted to Hao Wai Ku, with his wife finding the lone ticket. Hao eliminated a total of 4 players to amass the largest collection of TWD 775,000 in bounties. He walked away with a cool TWD 856,500 (~USD 26,790) to rank third overall in payouts.

Large turnout at the day’s Deepstack tournament with 191 firing up the floor to generate a prize pool of TWD 1,390,900 (~USD 43,720). Several well known players reached the final table, Patrick Liang, Park Yu Cheung, and Ka Shun Tsang who missed a series second title, falling to Matthew Cook at heads up. Peter Ng wins career first WPT title at the Turbo

Vamerdino Magsakay claims trophy at Turbo 50K Survivor event
The Turbo 50K Survivor event drew 54 entries, among them was Filipino Vamerdino Magsakay who has been running hot since last year with numerous titles and cashes earned in the Philippines and Vietnam. He now has one in Taiwan, his first ever WPT trophy after a heads up deal with Lee Kun Han.

Six days in the books with plenty of action still ahead. WPT Prime Taiwan boasts the richest and most extensive lineup ever announced by the global brand in Asia. A total of 46 trophy events are scheduled highlighted by the Main Event. Make sure to check the schedule link provided for all the details and structure.
WPT Prime Taiwan – Full Schedule
The WPT Prime Main Event gets underway on August 17 and runs until August 21. For a buy in of TWD 33,000 (~USD 1,075), players have a shot at the mighty USD 1,000,000 guarantee. This is the largest tournament prize pool advertised by the WPT for Taiwan. To further display the worth of this event, the champion will receive a 2023 WPT World Championship seat worth USD 10,400.
