The third edition of the Triton Super High Roller Series is underway

Cards are now in the air for what is undoubtedly the biggest poker event in town, the Triton Super High Roller Series. Introduced at the start of the calendar year, the series brings together some of the world’s top Chinese businessmen and the world’s poker elite for a rare poker experience at Solaire Resort & Casino in Manila, Philippines running from November 2-6, 2016.

Cards are in the air in Manila

Poker King Club President and CEO, Winfred Yu, expressed,

“The Triton Super High Roller Series brand is really designed for the high profile Chinese businessmen and not for the poker pros. Our focus it to attract them to play a high stakes poker tournament, and we’ve achieved that. Without the Chinese businessmen, this event would not be successful.“

Back in January, the first edition of Triton Super High Roller Series made its debut with one big event on the plate, the US$200K No Limit Hold’em tournament. The event was highly successful with a prize pool of over US$10M. German prodigy, Fedor Holz, became the first champion of the series, clearing well over US$3M in cash. This first success was followed with a charity event in Manila.

The third edition of the series is bigger than previous with two featured events on the schedule. The series kicks off with a new event, the Suncity Cup HKD200K buy-in Freezeout Six Max sponsored by Suncity Group. Players will start with a 40,000 stack with levels increasing every 40 minutes. This is a two-day event with regulation play halted at the completion of nine rounds. Registration will close at the start of tomorrow’s level 10.

28 players at the felt (Level 3)

At the time of writing, the opening event was underway with a mixed bag of 28 players at the felt. Staying true to its model, the tables comprised of Chinese businessmen such as Paul Phua, Zhang Ye, Huang Shan, Chan Wai Leong, Sun Ya Qi, and as expected were poker pros the likes of John Juanda, Erik Seidel, Daniel “Jungleman” Cates, David Peters, and Phil Gruissem to mention a few.
