[Press Release] WPT National Korea Secures 120 Main Event Participants

On May 8, 2016, WPT® National Korea will return to the beautiful island of Jeju for its sophomore run at the Maison Glad Hotel Jeju, the highly-anticipated follow-up to the widely successful WPT National Korea 2015. The event is set to be bigger than that of last year, Pre-registration for the event has reached an all-time high, with 120 people currently confirmed and more to come. The players attending are predominantly from Asia, made up of 56% Mainland Chinese players, 17% Japanese players, and 10% from Hong Kong. Some notable names include Raymond Wu, Terry Fan, Sparrow Cheung, Alex Lee, and the Team PKC roster, including Juicy Li, Jason Lo, and Gaoxing, Ian Brion and Lester Edoc.

WPT National Korea 2016 envisions an event much broader in terms than a usual poker tournament, with much emphasis put on other elements of the player experience, such as recreation, food & beverage, transport, culture, and tourism, among others. The organizers made sure to offer a variety of sponsored goods and discounts, ensuring the players enjoy all that Jeju has to offer, even outside the poker table.

Kicking off WPT National Korea will be the second-ever Poker King Club namesake event, Poker King Cup, boasting of a KRW 50,000,000 guarantee. The event made its first splash at WPT National Philippines, attracting a whopping 312 entries over its two-day period. Other notable events on the schedule is the 2,000,000 + 200,000 KRW Main Event, and the 6,000,000 + 600,000 KRW High Roller event. For those who do not have their entries to these events yet, satellites for both events will be conducted during the tournament dates. The festivities will also include a NLH KO Bounty, NLH Rebuy, NLH Freezeout, PLO event, 8NLH Deepstack, and a 6-Max Event.
