Opening day at Poker Dream 7 Vietnam roared in with the Vietnam Open ₫2 Billion guaranteed kicking off the festivities. By night’s end, 298 entered over three flights. Bagging up the overall chip lead was well known Vietnamese pro Pham Bao with a 103 bb stack. Pham topped the 149 entry field of Day 1B.
Leading up to the bubble round with only 23 players reaching ITM, Pham won a big pot against Dream Player of the Year (DPOY) race leader You Jun Hong who double barreled with mid pair called by Pham with higher pair on a board .
To wrap up the flight, Pham eliminated Chhikara Himanshu on the bubble with dominating on a board .
Other flight leaders were Kyle Bao Diep (Flight A) and Iosub Dragos-Gabriel (Flight C). At Flight A, with 109 entries, Diep picked up a big chunk of chips by knocking out local pro Huynh Ngoc Cuong in two hands. The first pot saw a board complete , Huynh raised preflop and bet every street, then mucked to Diep’s . Dropping to 8 bb, Huynh lost the rest to Diep with top pair falling to straight on a board .
Short stacked Nguyen Phu bubbled with running into Ngo Hoang Hieu’s . Nine players advanced from Flight A.
Over at Flight C, this turbo flight brought in 40 entries. Dragos -Gabriel charged up the ranks with Ace-King awarding him the double boost. His first double up was through Czar Ian Marcos with dominating . The next was through Tan Van Viet with staying ahead of . Dragos-Gabriel closed out the day by knocking out Wei Chao on the bubble with trips dusting on a board .

Mid-Autumn Festival
This week in particular will be special as it is the Mid-Autumn festival. A special Chinese Moon Festival was held at dawn on opening day. Snacks and drinks were served along with mini-games to win some cool prizes.

For newcomers to Poker Dream 7 Vietnam, if you are flying in, the closest airport is Da Nang International Airport. From there, you can hire a taxi or book a Grab to Hoiana Resort & Golf. It takes around 40 minutes to get to Hoiana. Make sure to have the local currency – Vietnamese Dong – no other currencies are accepted. At the event, the organizers will be happy to assist if you need to change additional currency.
