At yesterday’s games, two players emerged the newest U Series of Poker: Poker2U Taiwan Series side event champions. Taiwan’s Chih Wei Fan 范植威 shipped the TWD 3M guaranteed High Roller event and USOP Ambassador David Erquiaga closed out the Pot Limit Omaha. That brings the total champion tally to 14 with Taiwan’s Ching Chia Wang 王淨加 crowned at two events.
CHIH WEI FAN ships the High Roller for TWD 1,142,200M (~$37,640)
The High Roller event was a two-day affair with registration open for one final level at the start of Day 2. This drew a strong 66 entry field for a guarantee crushing prize pool of TWD 3,905,200 (~$128,700).
Bringing in the chip lead from Day 1 was Kazakhstan’s Murat Yesniyazov however as the bubble neared, he was nowhere to be found. Mini High Roller champion Hon Cheong Lee enjoyed a doubled up off David Erquiaga to stay in the running but not the case for one Malaysian player who met his end on the bubble with Fan 王淨加 delivering the harsh blow. It was Ace-Queen dominating Ace-Eight.
From there, it took another six hours for Fan to ship it. He 王淨加 defeated Australia’s Anton Lu in a grueling heads up match to bring home his fifth High Roller career title and career best TWD 1,142,000 (~$37,640) payout.
