Suit up for the Poker Dream Vietnam MAIN EVENT ₫10 Billion gtd on October 20 to 23

Ever since doors opened on October 14, Poker Dream Vietnam attendance has been tremendous with players from all over the region flocking to the quaint town of Hoi An, eager to experience what the new brand has to offer. With poker icon Winfred Yu at the helm, and the inaugural Poker Dream event in Malaysia setting the tone, confidence was high for another lucrative series.

For the past five days, large contingents from Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan, Philippines, Vietnam, and Korea have been converging at the Grand Hall of Hoiana Hotel & Suites, resulting in large fields and a cumulative festival prize pool over ₫28.85 Billion (~US$ 1.1M+) across 15 games. That impressive figure doesn’t include the jaw dropping Super High Roller prize pool of nearly ₫19.7 Billion, roughly US$ 800K, nor the 12 events yet to be completed.

Coming tomorrow, the festival enters its seventh day which means more money up for grabs with the MAIN EVENT taking the floor. The brand initially guaranteed ₫8BN for this highlight event then upped it to ₫10 Billion (~US$ 408,600) making it the largest Main Event guarantee put forth by any brand in the country. It runs from October 20 to 23 with three starting heats to join the action.  Here are all the details.

Buy in: ₫25,000,000 (~US$ 1,020)
Guarantee: ₫10,000,000,000 (~US$ 408,600)
Day 1A: Thursday, October 20 at 2pm
Day 1B: Friday, October 21 at 1pm
Day 1C (Turbo): Saturday, October 21 at 8pm
Day 2: Sunday, October 22 at 1pm
Day 3/Final Day: Monday, October 23 at 1pm

With festival attendance high and certain to grow for the Main Event, it has the potential to breach the Vietnam record of 777 Main Event entries set by the World Poker Tour and prize pool of ₫17.8 Billion set by the World Poker Championship. We will keep a close eye on that. You can join us by following the action here at Somuchpoker via the Live updates.
