Christopher Mateo wins the Crazy Weekend
Lower tiered buy in events, especially those with multiple entry days are the most popular, and it was no different for the Crazy Weekend with 309 entries over two starting days. 47 players advanced to Day 2 led by Lee Wee Liew who topped Day 1B. Liew went on to finish in 20th place.
Entering the final table, local player Richard Tolentino was the one to catch and who’s luck players hoped to break down. A couple of Tolentino’s exciting moments was spiking a gutshot on the river to knock out Yehonatan Behor in 14th place. He also delivered a double knockout at the final table.
Despite Tolentino’s momentum, it wasn’t enough to match the prowess of Filipino pro Christopher Mateo who went on to close it out for a payout of PHP 1,070,000 (~US$ 19,300). This was just another title added to his long list of victories both in the Philippines and abroad.
