The Vietnam Poker Cup: 5 reasons to play

1) New Sponsor- Money Added

Word Gaming Group confirmed few days ago that M88PokerAsia will be sponsoring the Vietnam Poker Cup this year, and have added an extra USD$8,800 to the Main Event prize pool (All of it will be attributed to the winner). This increases the value of playing this tournament for all players, professional and recreational. Chief Executive Officer of WPE, Andrew W Scott spoke on the subject: “We are extremely excited to have M88PokerAsia on board and to see them throw an extra US$8,800 into the Main Event prize pool. This is the first time in Asia a sponsor of a poker tournament has topped up a prize pool with cash over and above the player buy-ins and provides enormous extra incentive for the players!”

2) Schedule

There will be 3 full days of play throughout the Vietnam Poker Cup, including a $165 opening event on the 21st of August, followed by a mega satellite into the Main, with a $60 buy in. There will be an exact replica satellite at 11am the following morning, along with $55 and $110 10 handed 'Flipout' satellites for the Main and High Roller. The eagerly awaited $550 Main Event also starts at the same time, with a $110 satellite into the High Roller event starting at 7pm. Sunday the 23rd of August will begin with another $110 Flipout satellite. One final High Roller satellite costing $120 will start at 1pm, with the High Roller event itself beginning at 3pm and costing $1,100 to enter. The series will close with a deep stack turbo event at 5pm with a $275 buy in.

3) Somuchpoker Exclusive promotion: Last in the Main

As sponsor, Somuchpoker have agreed to offer a special promotion in relation to the Vietnam Poker Cup Main Event. If you book your stay through Somuchpoker and decide to join this promotion, there will be a special prize in store if you are one of the last players standing. 3rd last player to bust wins a 50 Euros bankroll on Pokamania.com while 2nd last gets $100 and the final player standing gets $200 bonus cash.

4) Venue

With many great reasons to participate in relation to the tournaments, it would be easy to miss the other broader reasons. The location of this series is one of the finest casinos in Asia, Ho Tram Strip Resort Casino. The venue markets itself as a poker players dream location, with the inclusion of golf. The golf course – The Bluffs Ho Tram Strip – which is situated on its doorstep was designed by former world number 1 golfer, Greg Norman. This works alongside a beautiful ocean view, with a swimming pool to create a holiday resort feel, rather than just a simple casino.

5) The Country

The Vietnam Poker Cup is only open to those who aren't Vietnamese nationals, and so it's important to point out that those people travelling to this event would be missing out if they didn't take the opportunity to explore some of the beautiful surroundings on offer in Vietnam. Fantastic food, terrain, and weather, are only the tip of the iceberg, with something for everyone. Whether you want busy hustle and bustle, or quiet serenity – It's all here, if you know where to look.
