Summer has definitely made landfall in the Philippines and with it comes not just the heat but also lots of events to look forward to. In just a few days, two events will be taking place, the opening of a new APT Poker Room and the grand launch of the upscale Okada Manila. Next month, the Metro Card Club sizzles with a 3M Guaranteed Summer Event.
New APT Poker Room opens at the Winford
The Asian Poker Tour will be opening their newest APT Poker Room at the Winford Hotel and Casino on Friday, March 31, 2017. This development comes several months after the closing of the room at the Manila Waterfront Pavilion. Although there are no details yet of what to expect, the relocation is already a big upgrade with the Winford rated a five-star establishment.
Last year, the APT Poker Room was one of several poker-dedicated rooms that closed down in Metro Manila. This led to a “last minute” venue change of the APT Finale to Macau. It will be curious to see if the APT will continue to host their tours at this location and how their regulars will adapt to the new destination.
The APT Poker Room Manila is on the second floor of the Winford Hotel and Casino, at MJC Drive cor. Consuelo St., San Lazaro Tourism and Business Park, Sta. Cruz, Manila.
Okada Manila Grand Opening end of March
After five years of construction, Okada Manila and its Poker Room are set for its grand opening on Friday, March 31, 2017. The newest integrated entertainment resort opened its casino doors to the public last December however the facility wasn’t fully operational which led to the disappointment of many visitors during the holiday season.
In just a few days, the wait will finally be over with the launch of the first phase of the resort. This will include the unveiling of the highly anticipated Grand Fountain, which is the largest dancing water fountain in the world.
Save the date! Metro 3M Guaranteed Summer Event
The next big Metro Card Club event is just around the corner, the Metro Summer Event 3M Guaranteed. This six-day event will be taking place on April 19th-24th with a low-cost P3K buy-in Main Event that guarantees a P3M prize pool. As usual, expect lots of local pros and enthusiasts hitting the felt to get a piece of the handsome pie.

-Pot Limit Omaha with a buy-in of P1,650
-NLHE Turbo with a buy-in of P1,650
-NLHE with a buy-in of P2,200
-Big Bounty with a buy-in of P2,200

The Metro is one of the pioneers of poker in the Philippines and is the largest poker room in the country. The room is always rockin’ with many of the country’s top players regularly seen at the felt. This year marks their 10th year in the industry.
