Top Best Online Poker Players 2017

The online landscape is shifting. With high stakes games moving away from PokerStars, this means that many of the high stakes sessions that are played are no longer recorded.

Despite this, the games at Pokerstars provide an interesting snapshot of who has been winning what. So, excluding games on platforms such as partypoker or PokerMaster, we bring you the top 5 Best Online Poker Players and Worst Losers of 2017.

#5. Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom +$654,625

Never has a name been more synonymous with high stakes action. Blom makes our list of biggest winners for this year, having added an extra $654,625 to his career profits on Stars, which amount to $2,156,498. The Swede is renowned for happily jumping into any games, at any stakes against anyone.

#4. ‘ActionFreak’ +$790,920

ActionFreak was first seen at the highest stakes in 2012, but rarely played there at all until one year ago. This huge upswing this year makes up almost the entirety of their $800,292 profits online at Stars, with their favoured game being PLO.

#3. Carlo ‘Ravenswood13’ van Ravenswoud +$814,543

Overall, van Ravenswoud has had a bumpy ride in his career, with an initial upswing being followed by a nasty downswing covering a two-year period. He is now bouncing back though, with his profits for 2017 putting his career earnings at Stars back into the black for the first time in a long time. He mostly plays at the PLO tables.

#2. Timofey ‘Trueteller’ Kuznetsov +$1,565,550

Russian pro Kuznetsov is the only player besides BERRI SWEET to post profits in the seven-figure range last year, and boosts his online lifetime winnings substantially to $3,345,605 on PokerStars. He is an extremely well-established figure in the online high stakes world.

#1. ‘BERRI SWEET’ +$1,769,395

Topping the standings for 2017 is mysterious high stakes regular ‘BERRI SWEET’. Little is known about the identity of this player, but he has amassed $2,330,314 in online earnings on PokerStars in their lifetime, with most of that money won this year.

#5. Bill ‘GASTRADER’ Perkins -$517,020

Bill Perkins is one of the best-known businessmen to frequent the online tables, and is never afraid to sit down with the best players. He dropped just over $517,000 this year to bring his total losses to just over $850,000 on Stars.

#4. ‘ImagineKing’ -$517,510
