More tournaments and boost to guarantee figures on 888Poker

While no online poker room can really match Pokerstars for the size and reach of it's brand, 888Poker comfortably occupy 2nd spot and continually work on closing the gap, even providing sponsorship for the 2015 WSOP. While the changes at Pokerstars have been well publicised recently, other poker rooms have also shifted their strategy, and 888Poker is no different.

Boost to guarantee figures and new additions to the tournament offer

There have been interesting new additions to the tournament schedule at 888Poker, with 'The Octopus' being one notable new tournament. With a $215 buy in and a $25,000 guaranteed prize pool, there is now a tournament at 888Poker which can offer something comparable to the bigger weekly tournaments on Pokerstars. The field size will of course be much smaller than something like the Sunday Million, but as a result it will be much easier to win and still offers a great 1st prize that any player would be glad to take home. The variance is always lower in a smaller field and to many players, they offer a better balance of variance and prize sizes compared to big events with thousands of runners. The tournament will take place every Saturday at 3pm GMT time. It also has a deep structure and 25 minute blinds giving plenty of room to play. On Sunday 888Poker will also host a special edition of the "Mega Deep" which will feature a $150,000 guarantee for a $215 Buy -In.

These new tournaments are not the only recent changes however, as there have also been boosts to guarantee figures across all their major tournament in the last month. This reflects the feeling at 888Poker that their player pool numbers are moving in a healthy direction and should continue to do so. The total figure added across all guarantees is $100,000 which shows a real confidence in player activity going forward. Connection issues are still something 888Poker need to work on, and there is every indication that they have placed this at the top of their priority list. Once they solve that problem, and continue to look at potentially buying out smaller rooms such as the bwin.party group that they recently bid for, there is every chance 888Poker will continue to grow in strength, for the rest of this year and beyond.
