7:05PM: Quang Nguyen wins the Main Event! 
Level 35: Blinds 125K/250K ante 30K

Quang Nguyen has done it! The last hand of the Main Event has been dealt! Quang Nguyen shoved with 3c3h, SJ Kim tossed in the one-chip call with Ac4h, and they were off to the races. The board came down 7c7h2c no help for Kim. The turn Qc gave Kim more outs to overtake. But it was not to be. The river 10s was not the black card he needed. Kim was eliminated in 2nd place and earned VND 1,134,820,000.

Quang Nguyen became the newest APL Man Event champion! He takes home the hefty VND 1,618,750,000 first place cash prize. 


6:45PM: Quang Nguyen wins four; SJ Kim dropping

Quang Nguyen picked up three rounds of blinds and antes with SJ Kim folding. The fourth pot saw Kim raise to 550k and Quang  called. The flop 8h7d9d was checked by both. The 2h turn Quang led out for 475k and won it. Kim down to 3M, Quang up to 11M.


6:35PM: Quang Nguyen up to 10M
Level 35: Blinds 125K/250K ante 30K

Quang Nguyen starting to distance himself further. He now has a 3:1 chip lead after this hand. He raised to 550k preflop and SJ Kim called. The flop 7h10d4c, both checked. On the 3c turn, Kim led for 450k, called by Quang. Then the river 2s it was back to checking. Kim showed Kc8c king high but Quang had better with Jd4d pair. Kim down to 4.5M, Quang at 10M.


6:25PM: Quang Nguyen takes two in new level

Quang Nguyen claimed two pots to bring his stack upwards of 9.5M. The first winner, he raised to 575k preflop and Kim called. The flop 10d2dKc, he c-bet 425k, Kim check-folded.

Next hand Quang called Kim’s 550k raise and saw a flop JcJs3s. He check-called Kim’s 350k bet, did the same on the 4c turn for a 650k bet, then on the 6h river, both checked it and Quang won with 3h4h two pair. Kim mucked.


6:15PM: SJ Kim earns a big one

SJ Kim took down a big pot to close the gap between him and Quang Nguyen. He raised to 450k preflop and Quang called. At the flop 3s7s6d, Quang checked, Kim bet 350k Quang raised to 950k, Kim three-bet to 2.595M, Quang folded.

6:00PM: Quang Nguyen scores a huge double up! Takes the lead

Quang Nguyen has taken the chip lead! The hand began with a 450k raise by Quang, answered with a shove by Kim. Quang tanked then found the courage to call for his tournament life.

The flop ran 7dKhJc keeping Kim ahead. The turn 3h gave Quang additional outs to overtake. Then on the river, Quang spiked one of those outs 5h to ship in a massive double up. He now has 9.33M. Kim dropped to 5.18M.

SJ Kim raised to 450k and Quang Nguyen called. The flop Ah4s10c saw Kim send out 350k and Quang check-called. On the 5d turn and 10h river, no bets landed and Quang won with 4c5c two pair.

Quang Nguyen raised to 400k, SJ Kim defended. At the flop 4d6c7h, Kim checked, Quang c-bet 350k, Kim called. On the Kc turn and 5d river, no bets and Kim won with Kd5d two pair.

SJ Kim raised to 450k, Quang Nguyen called from the big blind. The flop 3d4s10h brought more chips to the pot with Kim betting 350k and Quang check-calling. On the Ac turn and 10d river no bets arrived and Quang won with 4d9d two pair. Kim mucked.

SJ Kim continues to grind down Quang Nguyen. Both have won their fair share of small pots. One that went Kim’s way saw him call Quang’s 475k raise. At the flop 3h5d4c, both checked. On the 8h turn, Kim led for 375k, Quang folded.

Two pots for SJ Kim with the first on seeing a raise preflop from Kim to 350k, called by Quang Nguyen. At the flop 9c7c9s, he bet again and won it with Quang folding.

Next winning pot, he raised again to 350k and Quang called from the big blind. The flop 6h6d4c, Quang checked, Kim c-bet 350k, called by Quang. The turn 7d was checked by both and the river felted Ac. Quang checked, Kim laid out 450k, Quang called. Kim showed his KhKd and scooped it up with Quang mucking.


5:00PM: Quang Nguyen banks a double up

Quang Nguyen shoved with Kc9d and was in danger of elimination with Kim holding Ad8d. The flop ran dry 7s7c2d, but when the turn Kh landed, the rail roared with Vietnam’s Quang pairing up. Then with the river 5c, his pair held to ship a double up to 5,380,000. Kim dropped to 9,130,000.


4:55PM: Heads up begins: SJ Kim vs Quang Nguyen

Big wild and crazy hand just sent Minh Le crashing to the rail! He opened from the button to 360k and big blind SJ Kim defended. At the flop 8h8d6h, both checked. On the 6c turn, Kim bet 250k, Minh called. On the 6s river, Kim slid out 585k, Minh shoved his over 2M stack, Kim snap-called.

Minh’s fantastic run at the Main Event ended in 3rd place. He earned VND 729,730,000 (~US$31,200)and has set a new personal record for his largest cash and deepest Main Event run.  


4:30PM: SJ Kim dominating, reaches 7.8M
Level 33: Blinds 80K/160K ante 20K

SJ Kim is taking charge of the table picking up another pot to boost his stack to 7.8M. The recent winning hand he raised to 350k from the button, both blinds called. On the flop 8d8h8c, blinds checked, Kim bet 450k, won it with no callers.


4:25PM: SJ Kim vs Minh Le
Level 32: Blinds 60K/120K ante 20K

Light action here…. one decent hand saw SJ Kim limp from the small blind and Minh Le check. The flop JcKc3h, Kim bet 125k, Minh called. On the 8h turn, Kim bet 260k and won it with Minh folding.


4:20PM: SJ Kim shaves down Quang Nguyen
Level 32: Blinds 60K/120K ante 20K

Quang Nguyen raised to 255k from the button, SJ Kim and Minh Le called for a three-way to the flop Ac2c8h. The blinds checked, Quang c-bet 350k that found one caller in Kim. The turn 10s, no bets. The river 2h Kim bet 375k, Quang called. Kim Ad3c for two pair, Quang mucked.

Kim up to 7.5M, Quang down to 2.54M. Minh 4.4M.


4:15PM: Quang Nguyen picks off the bluff

Quang Nguyen opened with a 260k raise, called by big blind SJ Kim. The flop 10h5s3h and turn 9c saw no bets. The river Js, Quang-check called Kim’s 275k bet and won it with 7s7c pair over Qd2d queen high.


4:10PM: Three pots for SJ Kim

SJ Kim claimed three pots with the third one fairly hefty. From small blind, he raised to 275k and Minh Le defended on the big blind. The flop 10c6sKd, Kim c-bet 250k, called by Minh. On the 9s turn, Kim sent out 360k, and Minh called. Then on the river Kh, Minh folded to a 575k bet.

Kim goes up to 6.5M, Minh dropped to 4.6M. Quang at 3M.

Button SJ Kim raised to 225k and Quang defended on the big blind. The flop 3hJh10s, and turn 3s saw both check. On the river Js, Quang checked, Kim bet 250k, Quang paid to see and mucked to Kim’s Qs10h two pair. Kim proceeded to win the next hand and rose to around 5.3M.


3:25PM: Quang Nguyen loses another pot

Quang Nguyen is having it rough ride at the moment with SJ Kim taking a chunk from him and now Minh Le. Button Quang raised to 225k and Minh defended on the big blind. The flop 10cQd4c, Quang check-called a 250k bet and the turn came 4d. No bets by either and the river 5c was felted. Minh bet 650k and Quang called. Minh opened 9c2c flush and Quang mucked. Minh up to 6M, Quang dropped to 3.8M.


3:20PM: A bigger pot for SJ Kim

The hand saw action from button Minh Le bump it up to 250k, sb Quang called, bb Kim three-bet to 685k, Minh folded, Quang called. The flop came down 3c2d2c, Quang checked, Kim c-bet 450k, Quang called. On the 7d turn, check again by Quang, 850k bet from Kim, Quang folded. Quang goes down to 4.9M.


3:10PM: SJ Kim wins two from the leader

SJ Kim won two good pots against the chip leader to bring him over 3M. The first hand, button Kim raised to 225k and big blind Quang Nguyen defended. At the flop 9h10d10c, Quang checked, Kim c-bet 150k, and Quang called. The turn 4s and river 2d saw no bets and Kim won with Qs6s over 8h6h.

Next hand, Quang limped and Kim checked on the big blind. The flop Kc9cJd both checked. On the 4s turn, Quang checked, Kim bet 125k, called. Then the river Kh saw no bets and Kim won with 9d{4d two pair over Quang’s 3h4h lower two pair.

The turn 3c Minh switched up and led for 275k and Quang called. On the As river, Minh slowed down and checked, Quang strong-armed with a 700k bet, and Minh folded. Quang wins the pot and climbs to 6.7M.

At the flop Ah2c3d, blinds checked to Quang, he bet 280k, Kim folded, Anh raised to 600k. Quang called. On the 2s river, Anh jammed his remaining 1.1M stack, Quang called.

Cao Ngoc Anh in action here. We witnessed him win some then lose some. The first pot was against SJ Kim who raised to 160k from utg, acting next was Anh who three-bet to 390k, everyone else folded and Kim called. At the flop Ks3c4h, Kim checked, Anh bet 375k, Kim folded.

Next hand, Anh raised to 170k from utg, cutoff Minh Le called, and big blind Kim called. On the flop QcKc5d, action was checked to Minh, he bet 375k, Kim folded while Anh raised to 875k. Minh answered with a shove and Anh folded. Anh down to 1.9M, Minh up to 6.3M.

Fast action at the final table with 7 players now down to 6 with Thien An as the next casualty. With action folding around to the small blind Thien, he shove his 900k stack and got called by big blind Minh Le.

Immediate fireworks here at the Main Event with the first hand of the day seeing an all in. It kicked off with utg Nguyen Thanh intending to raise but he didn’t put enough and the floor considered it a call. Acting next, SJ Kim raised to 185k from utg+1, everyone folded around the orbit to big blind Duy Ho, he folded, and Thanh called.

The flop Jd5d9c, Thanh checked, Kim c-bet 210k, Thanh called. On the 3c turn, Thanh check, Kim bet 385k, Thanh all in, Kim snap call.

Sao Bac Dau will not be moving on to tomorrow’s final round. He was eliminated by Quang Nguyen in 9th place. It was a battle of the blinds situation. Everyone folded around to sb Quang who raised to 500k and bb Dau called with less (345k). Dau Kc8d, Quang Jd8h, a jack landed on the flop 2d7cJs5h2c and Quang sent Dau out of the running. Dau earned VND 161,930,000.


4:00PM: Minh Le earns some off Duy Ho

Duy Ho limped in from mid-position then called button player Minh Le’s 180k raise. The flop AsQh4s saw both check to bring on the 10d turn. Duy checked again, Minh sent out 250k, Duy called. The river 8s, saw both check it and Minh won with AhQd top two pair.

Players have been moved to the RFID table but no stream until tomorrow’s final 8. Action got underway with SJ Kim winning a pot against Jack En Ching Wu. Preflop betting began with Wu laying out 110k and bb Kim defended. At the flop 9h7s5s turn As, river 8c, no bets arrived and Kim showed 6s6c. Wu mucked.

Cao Ngoc Anh has delivered another knockout with Willy Portier falling in 10th place. Portier qualified to the Main Event via the VND 1.65M satellite making his deep run here a very profitable one.

The hand began with cutoff Cao raising to 110k and Portier defending on the big blind. At the flop 9d6s2s, Portier checked, Cao c-bet, Portier called. On the 3d turn, Portier bet 200k, Cao jammed his uber-massive stack, and Portier called for his tournament life.

Tran Van Quan shoved his 385k stack and button player Jack En Ching Wu called. Quan KhJd, Wu Ad9h, the board ran 10dQc5c4h2c. Both missed to give ace high the better spread. Quan out in 11th place and earned VND 134,690,000.


3:24PM: Alex Choi downed in 12th place

Alex Choi entered numerous pots that saw his stack swing wildly. This time around, it wasn’t able to swing upwards and met his end at the hands of Thien An. Action kicked off with Choi all in with 110k, button player Cao Ngoc Anh called followed by Thien An on the big blind. When the board ran 2s7x9xKx2x, no bets landed. Choi opened AxQx, Cao with Jx10x, and with Thien 6x7x pair, it was the end for Choi in 12th place. He earned VND 134,690,000.

Quang Nguyen raised to 125k, bb Minh Le three-bet to 350k, Quang called. At the flop 3c6s4h, Minh fired 325k, Quang called. On the Qs turn and Jh river, neither fired and Mnih won the pot with As4s flush.


3:15PM: Aces cracked! Sim Jae Kyung exits in 13th place

Sim Jae Kyung all in for 410k holding AdAh, Quang Nguyen called with QsQc, the board ran dry at first 3cKc7c9s but when the river Qd landed, Sim Jae’s aces were cracked and he exited in 13th place. He earned VND 107,700,000.

Sao Bac Dau all in with his short stack while holding Ah9d and massive stacked Cao Ngoc Anh called with 4h8d. The high cards stayed ahead with the board running 5d2d2s9h5c for a double up to Dau. He will need to double up again to get back in the running.

Welcome to Day 2 of the APL Ho Chi Minh City Road Series Vol.3 MAIN EVENT! We are kicking off at 1pm. 147 players out of the 587 entries return for another round to reach the top. The prize pool exceeded the guarantee. Players are looking at a VND 8,540,850,000 (~US$366,300K) pot.  Only half will see the money with 74 places paid. The lowest payout is a mincash of VND 21,610,000 but what everyone will be gunning for is the VND 1,618,750,000 (~US$69,300) first prize.

Coming in with the overall largest stack from the starting heats is China’s Xuewei Li with 325,800. He will have his hands full with Korean pro SJ Kim at his table. Also seated with him are Phan Trong Linh and the lone Filipino player in the field, Eugene Co.

Plenty of decorated champions and notable pros will be scattered around the room today. Among them are the defending champion Yin How Lew, Tzai Phua Wei, Linh Tran, Cao Ngoc Anh, Huy Pham, Feng Zhao, Huu Dung Nguyen, Iori Yogo, and Tetsuya Tsuchikawa.

The game resumes at Level 15 with blinds at 1200-2400 ante 400. They will play 10 levels but longer if the money is not reached. The estimated total chips in play is around 14,587,300, we will confirm that. Average stack is 99,233.

The final starting day drew in a towering 238 entries and after the 14 scheduled rounds, only 56 remained. Amassing a monstrous stack was Xuewei Li with 325,800. The games are back on at Pro Poker with the third starting day heating things up. The past two days drew a combined 170 entries with 46 through to Day 2. The man at the helm is currently Norbert Koh with 209,200. That’s the mark to beat.

If you are just getting in, buy-in is VND 16.5M with unlimited re-entries until the start of Level 10. That should give everyone plenty of chances to be part of the action.

Players start with a 25,000 stack. Blinds increase every 40 minutes. There will be a dinner break at the end of Level 9. Remaining players will bag up at the end of Level 14. Cards in the air at 1pm local time.

Pegasus replied with a three-bet to 36k, Burgers shoved his 105k stack, and Pegasus called with his big stack.

Ng Pui Cheung three-bet shoved his 17.2 short stack and got called by initial raiser Cuong Trinh. Cheung had JdJc, Trinh AsKs, the board was a scare for Cheung Qs3s2cJh3c but he managed to stay ahead for a double up to 36k.


10:40PM: Jack Wu adds more to his big stack

Three players saw a flop 9sJc4h after boosting up the pot to 12k. Phan Trong Linh checked, Julien Tran checked, Jack Wu bet 5k, and got called by both players. On the 3h turn and 2d river, all three checked it down and Wu won with 10d10c over Linh’s 8s9d and Tran’s Kc9c.

By the rate Norbert Koh is picking up chips during these last rounds, he may well surpass the Day 1A chip leader, Xiaoyin He who bagged up 205,200. As of now, Koh sits with around 205k after winning this pot against Quoc Chinh. The hand initially had three in the pot. On the flop Kd9sQh and a 24k pot brewed, utg Koh checked, mid-position checked, hijack bet 11.1k, Koh raised to 24k, mp folded, hijack jammed 50k, and Koh called.

Julien Tran shoved his short stack from utg+1 seat and got called by mid-position Cuong Trinh. Tran doubled up with AsQc nuts straight. Trinh mucked. Tran up to 65k, Trinh down to 110k.

Hai Chuot went head to head against the chip leader Tuan Anh and turned the tides his direction. On a flop Qc5c7h and 13k in the middle, Hai bet 6500, Anh shoved his massive stack, and Hai called for his tournament life. Hai AhQs top pair, Anh 4c6c open ended / flush draw, the turn 2d and river As were none of Anh’s outs and Hai doubled up to 125k. Anh tumbled down to 70k.

Hai claimed another pot, he railed Le Ngoc Khanh with QdQs spiking a queen on the river to burn Khanh’s KsKd.

The next hand Yogo’s Ad10d completed a nut flush on the river to boot a player.

On the turn 9x,  Koh slowed down and checked, db switched up bet 6500, Koh called. On the 4x river, Koh checked again, db bet 8700, Koh thought about it then called. Zhang called, Hai raised to 15k, Yohwan folded, then back to Zhang who called. The river 8h saw no bets and Hai won with Ac2c two pair over Zhang’s AsJh.

Anh showed his KsJh two pair and Hai mucked.

Utg player SJ Kim raised to 1200, hijack player called, big blind Jiang Yuan three-bet to 3800, Kim shoved, hijack folded, Yuan called for his tournament life. Kim JhJc, Yuan KcKs. Already ahead, Yuan continued to improve when the board ran Kh9d5s9c6c. Kim dropped to 50k, Yuan up to 55k.


7:05PM: Norbert Koh rails Quoc Vu

We only caught the action on the flop 6-7-8 with Quoc Vu all in holding K-K and Norbert Koh putting the heat on with 9-8. The turn 9 and river 8 improved Koh to a full house to ship in the pot and boot out Vu.

On a raised pot preflop to 10k, the board felted 9c10cKd, both Minh Le and Tuan Anh checked. On the 10h turn, Anh bet 6200, Minh raised to 15.2k, Anh tanked then eventually folded.


6:40PM: Pegasus up to 125k

Pegasus

Pegasus called an 800 raise and two players also joined before flop 2h9h3d. Initial raiser c-bet 5600, Pegasus and one player called while the other folded. On the 6d turn, the aggressor shoved his 35k stack and only Pegasus called. All in player had J-9 top pair, Pegasus 3-3 set, Pegasus shipped it while the aggressor shipped out. Pegasus up to 125k.


6:20PM: Tan Wah Meng vs Huy Coshet

From mid-position, Huy Coshet raised to 900, was called by the small blind, but big blind Tan Wah Meng raised it to a huge 5k bet. Huy Coshet  called and sb folded. At the flop 10cAsKs, Meng shoved his 40k stack sending Huy Coshet tanking. Meng eventually won the pot with no call. Meng up to 55k.


6:10PM: Julien Tran’s aces cracked!

Julien Tran plummeted on this hand down to just 6k while the player on the receiving end, Cuong Trinh, zoomed to 80k. Trinh kicked off the hand with a raise to 1100 from utg. Tran three-bet to 3600 from cutoff, and Trinh called. At the flop A-J-3, both checked. The turn was a 6. Tran bet 3500 and Trinh check-called. The on the King river Trinh initiated the betting with 11k, Tran shoved, and Trinh went all in as well. Tran with A-A set, Trinh Q-10 straight.

Natalie Teh quickly re-entered after falling at the hands of Jack En-Ching Wu. Preflop action saw a 1k raise from Wu, called by two players before reaching sb Teh who three-bet to 5500. Wu called followed by two folds for a one-on-one. At the flop 3s7sQc, Teh c-bet 6k and Wu flat-called. On the 8d turn, Teh bet 11k and Wu called. On the 2h river, Teh shoved her 20k stack and Wu matched it right up. Teh showed As2s bottom pair missed draw and was way behind Wu’s QsQh. Wu climbed to 85k.

Three-way all in on a turn board of 10sJhAsKh with everyone holding a Queen for a straight. However, Pegasus had Qs7s for the nut flush draw. The river 2s completed the board, Pegasus landed the spade and tripled up to 35k.

Iori Yogo and LIm Yohwan faced off preflop that saw multiple raises leading to shoves. When the cards were opened, Yogo held QcQs, Yohwan 10c10h.The board ran 10s9hJcAsQh for a double up to Yogo to 55k. Yohwan dropped to 30k.


4:55PM: Phan Trong Linh edges Kim Jun Han

On a completed board of 6s7d5s4s5d and 16k pot already in the middle, Kim Jun Han bet 15k and Phan Trong Linh tank-called. Kim showed 9s9h overpair while Linh had the edge with 10d10c to win the pot and rise to 75k. Kim dropped to 45k.


4:45PM: Nicholas Burgers sends two packing

Julien Tran kicked off the hand with a 500 raise, Tan Wah Meng called, Sim Jae Kyung aka Simba three-bet to 1500, Luen Hei Kwok called. Action back to Tran, he four-bet to 3800, Meng folded, Simba called, and Kwok folded. At the flop 4s10h9d, Tran moved all in and was called. Tran held AhAc that was way a head of 7h7s. The turn 9c and river Jh ended the hand for a double up.

We’ve got quite a nice turnout of Koreans in Day 1B with two of them recently going head to head for a pot. Action began with Junho Lee raising to 1100 and button Kim Hwan Young making the call. At the flop 5dQd3s, Lee bet 7k, Kim shoved just over double, and Lee called.

Catching the action on a full board Jd9h10h7d4d and a pot of 8k in the middle, Thanh Hai was all in for 12.5k sending Le Ngoc Khanh tanking especially that he had only 10k behind. Khanh eventually folded.

Back to Vu, he called while Kim folded. At the flop 10s10c5d, SJ bet 3300, Vu raised to 7800, SJ shoved, and Vu opted to fold. Vu down to 7k, SJ goes up to 38k.

4:00PM: Kim Jun Han scoops up and rails another

Heavy preflop action led to the end of Kevin Law at the hands of Kim Jun Han. Kicking off the bout was Phan Trong Linh with a 450 raise. This was followed by Law with a three-bet from cutoff to 950, Kim four-bet to 3500, Linh folded, Law five-bet to 18.2k, Kim all in, and Law put it all in for a total of 22k.

Phan Trong Linh was one of the finalists of the inaugural DeepStack Open Vietnam event. He is back at the races looking to secure another good score. He recently doubled up to help him build his stack to get there. On a turn board 2hKd7d3c and 18k already brewed, Linh checked, Chen Tian Ai shoved 14,525, and Linh called. Chen held Ac10s ace-high and Linh was ahead with Kc10c top pair. Linh shipped it after the river 4s. He now has 42k.


3:50PM: Norbert Koh rails Shyh Chyn Lim

Hyper Turbo winner Shyh Chyn Lim sent the rest of his short stack in the middle with Jh10d to hopefully help him get back up but he couldn’t get past Norbert Koh’s AhAd. Lim quckly got up and re-entered.

Six players were in on a min-raised pot preflop and the cards landed Ad2c10c. Action was checked all the way to the button player Jaeheung An. He bet 875 and found one caller in Van Cuong. On the 10s turn, Vu checked, Cuong bet 450, Vu raised to 1200, and Cuong called. The river 2c Vu switched up again and bet 2800, Cuong called. This is the second of four starting days offered. For a buy-in of VND 16.5M, players receive a 25,000 starting stack with opening blinds at 25/50. Blinds increase every 40 minutes. For late-comers, registration closes at the start of Level 10. There will be a dinner break just before that at the end of Level 9.

At yesterday’s Day 1A heat, out of the 82 that entered, only 24 made the cut to Day 2. China’s Xiaoyin He bagged up the lead with 205,200 in chips. Michael Kim Falcon earned second rank with 184,300, and Vietnam’s own Dang Xuan Canh in third position with 154,500. Players can attempt for multiple stacks but keep in mind, only your best stack advances.

During the last hands called, Michael Kim Falcon faced the chip leader at his table, Korean player Hansol Choi, and won both meetings. The first one ran to the river with Falcon shoving on a queen high board. Hansol folded. The next hand, on a flop 2c3h4s, Falcon bet 30k, Hansol called. On the 6d turn, Falcon jammed over 80k, Hansol tanked and said he had overpair, but couldn’t bring himself to call. Falcon won the pot and showed his 4h4s set.

Truc Tran looked like he was about to send Dang Xuan Canh to the exit however the river had other plans, chunking him down instead. The hand saw a raise to 4100 by Truc from the lo-jack seat and big blind Dang called. At the flop Qd6sJs, Dang checked, Truc c-bet 6k, Dang raised to 16k, Truc three-bet to 36k, and Dang moved all in for 75k. Truc called.

One of the bigger stacks out there right now is Dung God. He picked up another pile to add to it. From utg, God raised to 2600. Everyone folded to the big blind Van Quan who called. At the flop Kd6d9c, Van led for 3500, Dung raised to 13.8k, Van called. On the 8d turn, it was checked by both to bring on the river Qd. Van led for 6k, Dung shoved. Van folded. Dung showed his As6h bottom pair. He is now up to 150k.


9:10PM: Natalie Teh busts again

Natalie Teh was on her second bullet but still it didn’t get her into Day 2. With action folding around to her on the button, she moved all in for her last 13.7k. She was called by the small blind Dao Ngoc Nam. Teh held AsJs, Dao with KdQd, the board felted 2d7d5d9c10h for a winning flush to Dao.

Hwang Sang Yeon held a stack below starting stack for a large part of the day. Looking down at AdQs, he risked it all and got called by Bounab Hakim with KsJd. The board ran QdKh8cKcJc to send Hwang packing up.

Pham Bao was just booted out in a stunning nine-high call by Dang Xuan Canh. The hand began with Dang raising to 2k from hijack, and Pham defending on the big blind. Both players checked all the way to the river AhQs7hQcAd. Pham shoved his 12.3k stack sending Dang tanking. Dang somehow found the courage to call and it was shockingly a good one. Pham had 5c3s which meant he played the board while Dang held 9d7d for a nine-high win. Dang!

Ten minutes ago Truc Tran scored a double off SJ Kim. He landed another stack boost this time in a shocking two-outer against Long Lam. The hand kicked off with utg raising to 1250, cutoff called, sb Xuan Hung called, then bb Pham Bao three-bet to 4700. Utg and cutoff folded while Xuan called. At the flop 10hAc7d, Xuan bet 1500 and Pham called. On the 5h turn, Xuan bet 2500, Pham called again. On the 10d river, another 3500 sliding out of Xuan’s section, Pham called. Xuan showed AsQc and won the pot after Pham mucked.

6:20PM: Vincent Li spikes a two-outer to chunk Falcon

A very lucky two-outer for Vincent Li keeps him in the running while simultaneously chunking down Michael Kim Falcon. The hand began with two limpers before button player Falcon raised to 1100. Sb Li three-bet to 6k and back to Falcon who called. At the flop 8h8c6h, Li shoved his 15,950 stack and a snap-call from Falcon.

Athe flop 8s10hJh, action was checked to Sao, he c-bet 3200, db Tran Phu Tai called, sb Aigars check-raised to 8k, bb folded, Sao folded, and Phuc Tai called. On the 9d turn, Aigars all in and snap-call by Phuc Tai. Aigars Kh8h pair with outs for a gutshot and a flush, Phuc Tai with JdQc straight. The river 2c didn’t help Aigars to send him to the rail. Phuc Tai up to 90k.


5:45:PM: Full house over full house sends Natalie Teh re-entering

Natalie Teh and Nam Nguyen engaged in a pot that saw the latter raise from mid-position and Teh calling from the button. At the flop Jc10cKs, Nam bet 5500 and Teh called. On the 3c turn both checked. The river Kd Nam bet 11.5k, Teh jammed, and Nam snap-called. The showed 10hKh full house but Nam had better KcJs to boot her out. She quickly re-entered.

Malaysian pro Natalie Teh opened the betting with an 800 raise. She was called by the blinds Aigars Plicvs and Le Hong. At the flop {Qs6s7c, she c-bet 1950 and both blinds check-called. On the 6c turn, she bet 3500 and this time only Aigars joined while Le folded. On the river 3h Teh shoved her remaining 6500 and Aigars check-called once more. Teh showed 7d7s full house for a double up. Aigars showed his pocket tens.


5:10PM: Straight on the flop for Dang Xuan Canh

Nguyen Chi Thinh raised to 800 and three players called. AT the flop 5h6d7s, sb player bet 2k, two players folded, cutoff Dang Xuan Canh raised to 6k, and sb called. On the 8d turn, sb shoved his 17k stack and Dang called. Sb showed 2h6h which was way behind Dang’s 3c4c straight. The river Qs sent sb out and Dang shipped it. He sits with 70k.


5:00PM: Nguyen Van Trung stacks up

One of the headliners of the DSO event was Nguyen Van Trung who racked up the overall big stack on opening day. He eventually made the money in 20th place. Back on the felt, Van is at it again and is currently sitting with around 70k. He won some of those chips on this hand. He raised to 700 and found four callers to join him at the flop Ac6s3s. Action was checked to him, he c-bet 1900 and the button player called. On the Ah turn, no bets landed. On the river Qc, Van bet 2k, got called, then won the pot with Ad3d.


4:45PM: Steffen Endres doubles up through DSO winner
Level 6: Blinds 150/300 ante 50

DeepStack Open champion Hwang Sang Yeon and Steffen Endres reached the river on this hand 3s8c9h6c3c wit a pot of 18k already brewed. Hwang checked, Endres moved all in for 14,675, Hwang decided to call showing his AhQh ace high. Endres won it with JcQc flush for a double up.


4:20PM: Ace high good for Aigars Plivcs

Aigars Plivcs raised to 600, cut-off Le Hong three bet to 1600, big blind Phuoc Vinh called, and back to Aigars who joined in. At the flop Qs4s2d, Le bet 7500. Vinh check-raised to 6k, Aigars check-called, and Le called. On the 2c turn and 9h river, no bet landed and Aigars won it with As10s ace high.


4:00PM: Three-way all in goes to Tran Phuc Tai

Three-way all in began with a limp by the utg player. Middle position player Sao Bac Dau raised to 700, button Tran Phuc Tai called, back to utg who shoved his short 14k. Phuc Tai moved all in as well for 25k, and Sao joined the party with his 75k stack.

3:50PM: Alex Tung doubles up

Alex Tung and Frederic Bolliet stared down a board 2s8hAc6c and a pot of around 13k already brewed. Tung checked, Bolliet bet 4500, Tung check-raised to 11k, Bolliet shoved, and Tung called. Tung AsQs, Bolliet AdJc, the river 8d ended the hand and Tung doubled up.

3:45:PM: Dang Xuan Canh in the house

Dang Xuan Canh is in action here and will be looking to better his 3rd place finish at the first APL Vietnam Main Event back in May. We recently caught him win a sizable pot to bring his stack up to 40k.

From utg, Dang opened with a raise and found three callers to join him to the flop 9c7c10h. After the blinds checked, Dang c-bet 700, a mid-position player raised to 1600, sb folded, bb called, and back to Dang who re-raised to 5200. Both players called. On the Qd turn, bb checked, Dang slid out 22.4k which was enough to cover the stacks of both of his opponents, and he won the pot with both folding. Dang showed one card 8h.


3:25PM: Heavy hitting Phoc Vinh
Level 4: Blinds 75/150 ante 25

Phoc Vinh put some muscle in for this pot. He raised from mid position then faced a three-bet of 1900 from the button player. Action rolled back to Vinh and he pumped it up to over 5K, and db called. On the flop and turn Ad8s3c3s, both checked. On the 6d river Vinh bet 11k and won it with no call. Vinh showed his AcAs hole cards.

With more tables filling up, among the notables seen we have Hung Sheng Lin, Minh Le, Ray Chiu, and DeepStack Open winner Hwang Sang Yeon.


2:55:PM: Sao Bac Dau wins sick three-way showdown

On a flop 4s9h6c, three players were all in. One with JhJd overpair, another with 6d4d two pair, and Sao Boc Dau with 9d9s set. The turn Ac and river 7c sent the massive pile to Sao who zoomed to 60k. Two players were knocked out.


2:40PM: Kim Jun Han and Long Lam in consecutive pots

At table 5, heavy action took place between a couple of players, namely Kim Jun Han and Long Lam. The first hand utg Long Lam raised to 450, button Christopher Mateo three-bet to 1200, big blind Kim Jun Han called. At the flop 6s5sJd, action was checked to Mateo, he c-bet 1125. Kim called, Long check-raised to 3800, Mateo folded, and back to Kim who called. On the 5d river Kim checked, Long bet 8500, and won it with no challenge from Kim.

Next hand, four players in on a raised pot preflop. Everyone checked the flop to bring on a turn board of Qs7s6sKh. Big blind Long bet 700 onto the 2k pot, Erik Billgren called, one player folded, sb Kim check-raised to 3100, called by both Long and Billgren. On the 3s turn, Kim fired out 8k and won it with both Lam and Billgren folding.


2:15PM: Michael Kim Falcon in action

Hard-punching Michael Kim Falcon dropped down to a short 5k stack and pushed all in with Jh9d. He was called by a player with AdKc. The board ran 7c5d10dJs8h giving him a straight for a double up. Several hands later, his continued aggression sent him to the rail and quickly re-entered.

At the new table with blinds having increased to 75/150, we caught him win a pot. He raised to 500 preflop and found three callers. At the flop 7hQc5h, Falcon c-bet 1k and only Christopher Mateo called. On the 3h turn, both checked. Then on the 9d river, Falcon fired 3k and Mateo folded.


2:10PM: Pham Bao arrives and quickly wins one
