The Players Series (PS) is a rapidly growing poker tour aiming to provide a world-class tournament experience in the Asian region with affordable buy-ins. Created on the principle of “from players for players,” the series attracts both recreational players and aspiring pros with excellent structures and professional organization, centered in the thriving poker hub of Taiwan .

History and Significance of the Players Series

The Players Series is a relatively new entrant on the global poker map, launching its first major festivals in 2024 . The series was born from the demand for a tour in Asia that combines a friendly atmosphere with professional conditions, bridging the gap between small local low-stakes tournaments and expensive international series (like WPT or APT).

Already in its inaugural year, at the “Players Series Taiwan Championship” events, the series proved its viability: guaranteed prize pools were regularly exceeded, and hundreds of players participated in the main events at the CTP Asia Poker Arena . The brand quickly became known for deep structures and a player-centric approach, becoming a favorite festival in the region in a short time.

Events and Structure

The Players Series offerings are designed to cater to all types of players. Structures are generally “Deepstack,” providing more room for post-flop play and avoiding excessively fast (“turbo”) bust-outs in critical stages.

  • Main Event: The highlight of the festivals, typically with multiple starting days and an attractive guaranteed prize pool. The buy-in is mid-range, making it accessible to a wide audience.
  • High Roller: Tournaments for players with larger bankrolls, where the field is usually tougher, but the prizes are higher.
  • Mystery Bounty: One of the most popular formats in modern poker, where players can draw random cash prizes for eliminating opponents.

Online Qualification

The Players Series is committed to enabling as many players as possible to participate through satellites.
