Players Series Taipei 2024: Zong Chi He, Lee Shung Hei Lead Main Event Final 9; Sam Hung Bags Big At SS Challenge
On December 22, 2024, the inaugural Players Series kicked off its penultimate day with multiple events on the floor. Under the spotlight was the Main Event with 47 players in pursuit of a final table seat. After a roller coaster day of triumphs and bad beats that ran for over seven hours, the final 9 players emerged.

The Players Series Taipei 2024 rolled in on December 13 with eleven days of games set to conclude on December 23. Taking place at the CTP Asia Poker Arena in Taipei City, Taiwan, the Main Event guaranteed the largest prize pool of NTD 15 Million. This drew a 748 turnout with the money starting at 112th place.
Zong Chi He, Lee Shun Hei Lead Final 9
At Day 3, only 47 returned ending with the final 9. Two players separated by just 1 big blind headlined the counts – Zong Chi He with 55 bb and Lee Shun Hei with 54 bb.
Both players contributed to forming the final table. With 11 players remaining, Lee burned the day’s entering chip leader, Chen Po Jui, with a straight on the turn. To close out the day, Fu Sheng Kuang improved against Zong at the flop then fell back on the turn to fall in 10th place.

Sam Hung Leads Superstar Challenge
After ten 40-minute levels, Day 1 of the Superstar Challenge NTD 3M guaranteed concluded with 27 players remaining. A total of 51 entries were recorded with the field expected to grow as late registration remains open until Level 13 in Day 2. For those planning to enter, buy in is NTD 66,000 (~US$ 2,090) which gives you a 250,000 starting stack. Entering blinds are 5000-10,000.
Chen Yu Hung aka Sam Hung led the pack with a towering stack of 1,311,000 (131 bb) heading into the Final Day. Helping him get there was the elimination of David Erquiaga with a dominating pocket Aces.
Another stack surpassing the one-million mark belonged to Belgium’s Kristof Segers, the decorated five-time CTP title owner. He capped off Day 1 with a chunky stack of 1,188,000 (119 bb) to begin Day 2. Hot on Segers’ heels were Ori Kossonogi (998,000 / 99 bb)) and Ko Chia-Hsiang (930,000 / 93 bb).
Other players advancing to Day 2 include Hsu Kai-Cheng (823,000), Ha Baron (740,000), Jason Lau (634,000), Martin Gonzales (536,000), and Adrien Favre (194,000).
