CTP Asia Poker Arena
in Taipei. Running from August 19 to 31, 2026, the opening four days delivered a busy slate of trophy events, high-roller restarts, and early flight action in the main featured tournaments.
Organised by the Players Series , the festival schedule features a total of 148 events and 44 starting flights, drawing a mixed field competing across a wide variety of Hold’em, Omaha, and mixed game formats.
Cherkashin Triumphs in Super High Roller as Day 4 Crowns 8 Winners

Day 4 (Saturday, August 22) proved to be the busiest session of the opening week, crowning a total of 8 winners across high-stakes, freezeout, mixed game, and bounty formats.
The largest payout of the festival so far came in Event #20 Natural8 Open Super High Roller (8-Handed). The flagship high-stakes tournament attracted 41 entries, building a TWD 1,900,000 (~$59,560) prize pool. Russia’s Andrei Cherkashin claimed victory, collecting the title along with TWD 669,100 (~$20,975).

Opening Days Deliver Early Trophies
The festival launched on August 19 with four side events reaching their conclusion. In Event #3 PLO Big Bounty (8-Handed), Hung Hsiang Wu outlasted 6 entries to take the TWD 8,300 (~$260) top payout from the TWD 40,600 (~$1,270) prize pool.

Local player Chuyi Huang topped the 34-entry field in Event #7 Bounty Turbo to secure TWD 29,000 (~$910) out of the TWD 113,600 (~$3,560) prize pool.

Shih Wins National Cup; Kanaraksapong Claims Open HR
August 20 saw the final day of Event #2 PS National Cup, which surpassed its guarantee with 165 entries, generating a TWD 1,500,000 (~$47,065) prize pool. Sheng Ju Shih emerged victorious, taking down the title and the top prize of TWD 350,000 (~$10,980).

In Event #5 Natural8 Open High Roller (8-Handed), 47 entries created a TWD 1,400,000 (~$43,920) prize pool. Thailand’s Wipawadee Kanaraksapong defeated the field to take home the trophy and TWD 459,000 (~$14,400).

Through the opening four days, players representing 12 different countries recorded payouts. Host region Taiwan led the country earnings standings with $126,910 across 78 ITM finishes, followed by Hong Kong with $52,580 (18 ITM) and Thailand with $28,300 (7 ITM). South Korea sat fourth with $27,120 across 19 cashes, while Russia held fifth with $26,865.
On the individual player leaderboard, Andrei Cherkashin led overall earnings with $26,865 across 2 cashes, followed closely by Tung Wing Wong ($23,740) and Wipawadee Kanaraksapong ($14,400). In the SMP Poker Index rankings for the series, Tung Wing Wong held the top spot with 1,131 SPI points, with Andrei Cherkashin right behind at 1,120 SPI points.
By game variant, Texas Hold’em tournaments accounted for $289,045 in prize money across 899 entries. Omaha formats generated $9,875 across 75 entries, mixed games accumulated $6,415 across 36 entries, and Short Deck events added $1,420 across 9 entries.
