Daeyoung Park Wins Record 9,094-Entry TMT20 Main Event

South Korea’s Daeyoung Park has won the largest Taiwan Millions Tournament Main Event ever held, overcoming a record 9,094 entries to capture the TMT20 title.

Park defeated Malaysia’s Cheng Jing Lim heads-up after the pair agreed to an ICM deal. He collected TWD 6,100,000 and the exclusive Incense Cedar Shield Trophy, while Lim received the larger TWD 6,400,000 payout and the TMT Championship Ring.

The day also saw the Philippines dominate the TWD 25,000 High Roller, with Oliver Lirio leading a clean sweep of the top three positions.

Daeyoung Park Wins Record-Breaking TMT20 Main Event

The TMT20 Main Event attracted a record 9,094 entries across 11 starting flights at the Asia Poker Arena & Red Space .

The TWD 9,000 tournament generated a prize pool of TWD 66,786,336, comfortably surpassing its TWD 60 million guarantee.

Only 36 players returned for the final day. Park began among the larger stacks before entering the nine-handed final table in the middle of the counts.

Lim and Sung Hsiang Lin controlled much of the early final-table action, while China’s Tianhui Sun also spent time near the top of the leaderboard.

Park remained patient and gradually improved his position as the field moved closer to the title.

Lim Takes Control at Six-Handed

Lim moved into a commanding lead with six players remaining after doubling through Sun. He eliminated Sun in sixth place shortly afterwards and took control of more than half the chips in play.

India’s Manpreet Singh produced one of the most memorable runs of the final table. Singh survived several all-ins and repeatedly recovered when facing elimination.

His run eventually ended in fourth place at the hands of Lim, earning him TWD 2,800,000.

Park then eliminated Lin in third place for TWD 3,600,000, setting up the heads-up contest against Lim.

Park Claims Title Following Heads-Up Deal

Park and Lim agreed to an ICM deal before heads-up play began.

The agreement secured TWD 6,100,000 for Park and TWD 6,400,000 for Lim, with the tournament title and trophies still to be decided at the table.

The heads-up contest developed into a patient battle between two deep stacks before Park pulled ahead in the decisive pot. Park made trips on the turn and called Lim’s all-in, with the river confirming his victory.

Although Lim received the larger payout under the deal, Park secured the TMT20 Main Event title and the Incense Cedar Shield Trophy.

Third TMT Main Event Title for South Korea

Park’s victory continued South Korea’s strong record at the Taiwan Millions Tournament .

South Korea provided the largest international contingent in the TMT20 Main Event, contributing 1,597 entries from 405 unique players.

Park became the third South Korean player to win a TMT Main Event title, completing his run by overcoming the largest field in the tour’s history.

Oliver Lirio Leads Filipino High Roller Sweep

The Philippines claimed all three podium positions in Event #H18 TWD 25,000 High Roller .

The tournament attracted 247 entries and generated a TWD 5.3 million (~$166,260) prize pool, with 38 players finishing in the money.

Oliver Lirio came out on top to win TWD 1,000,000 (~$31,163). Fellow Filipino Czardy Rivera finished runner-up for TWD 725,000, while Royly Oracion placed third for TWD 465,200.

South Korea’s Soo Jo Kim finished fourth, followed by compatriot Jeongin Cha in fifth place.
