Hilton Hotel Prague Poker Guide: King's Casino & EPT Prague

Hilton Prague is one of Europe’s most enduring poker venues and the long-standing home of the European Poker Tour ‘s flagship year-end festival. Set on the banks of the Vltava River in central Prague , the 791-room, five-star property has hosted EPT Prague continuously since 2007 - making it one of the most recognisable addresses in European tournament poker. The casino licence is operated by King’s Casino Prague , the same group behind King’s Resort in Rozvadov , and the venue has become a December fixture for players from across Europe and beyond.

Venue Features & Environment

  • King’s Casino Prague : The in-house casino operates daily from 16:00, offering poker cash games, Texas Hold’em tournament tables, blackjack, roulette, baccarat, Russian Poker, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, and 40 slot machines. The casino floor expands significantly during EPT festival weeks to accommodate the large fields the series regularly attracts.
  • 791 Rooms & Suites: The 14-floor Atrium building offers a full range of accommodation from standard rooms to Junior Suites, many with Vltava River views from large windows or private balconies. The property’s scale makes it well suited to the “stay and play” model that major poker festivals depend on.
  • Full Resort Amenities: Facilities include an indoor heated pool, spa, sauna, steam room, fitness centre, rooftop sky bar and lounge, à la carte restaurant serving international cuisine, and conference space - giving players a complete on-site experience across a multi-week festival.
  • EPT Track Record: The Hilton has now hosted EPT Prague 18 times. The 2024 edition saw the €5,300 Main Event attract 1,224 entries - the fourth-largest Main Event field in the stop’s history - while the €1,650 PokerStars Open drew over 3,000 runners, setting a new record for that event.

The Player Experience

The Hilton Prague’s appeal as a poker destination goes well beyond the casino floor. The city itself is the draw - Prague’s Christmas markets run through December, coinciding with EPT festival dates, and the hotel’s central location puts players within walking distance of the old town, the Charles Bridge, and some of the best dining and nightlife in Central Europe. The rooftop sky bar is a natural gathering point between sessions, and the river views from the upper floors make for one of the better settings you’ll find at any major European stop.

During EPT weeks, the venue operates as a full tournament hub, with registration, media, and cash game areas all housed within the property. The EPT schedule typically runs across 12 days and includes 70-plus events, from low buy-in turbo satellites up to high rollers and the flagship €5,300 Main Event. The PokerStars Open (formerly Eureka) Main Event also runs alongside the EPT schedule, giving players two separate Main Events to target under one roof.

Logistics & Access

📍 Address: Pobřežní 311/1, Praha 8, 186 00, Prague, Czech Republic. Tel: +420 224 841 111

✈️ Getting There: Václav Havel Prague Airport (PRG) is approximately 27 minutes from the hotel by taxi or airport transfer. Prague is also easily reachable by train from Vienna, Berlin, and other European cities - Prague Main Station is under a mile from the hotel. The Florenc metro station is a short walk away for local transport.

❄️ Reporter’s Tip: Book your room at the Hilton directly for EPT week - the property sells out quickly once PokerStars opens the discounted EPT Travel accommodation package. December in Prague is cold (expect 0–5°C), so pack accordingly, but the Christmas market atmosphere more than compensates. Dress code at the casino requires smart casual - no sportswear or shorts on the floor.
