GOP Returns to Taipei as The Trial of Wisdom Awaits with NTD 17M Main Event

In just ten days, Gods of Poker (GOP) returns to CTP Asia Poker Arena for The Trial of Wisdom – GOP Taipei 2026 , running from September 18 to 27. The return comes with a much bigger spotlight on the Main Event, which carries a NTD 17,000,000 (~USD 535,000) guaranteed prize pool for a NTD 33,000 (~USD 1,040) buy-in.

It is another major stop for a series that has been steadily making its way around the Asian poker scene. For players in Taiwan and those traveling in from across the region, the ten-day festival offers a mix of affordable side events, bigger buy-in challenges, and, at the center of it all, a Main Event with a guarantee that should draw plenty of attention.

GOP Taipei 2026 Main Event Takes Center Stage

Naturally, the NTD 17,000,000 (~USD 535,000) guaranteed Main Event is the tournament that will draw the most attention. With a NTD 33,000 (~USD 1,040) buy-in, it sits at the heart of the festival and offers players the chance to compete for a sizeable share of the prize pool while chasing one of GOP’s biggest titles in Taipei.

The Cronus Structure will also return to the Main Event, having already been part of the previous Taipei festival. For players familiar with the format, it adds another familiar element to the return, while newcomers will have the opportunity to experience the structure for themselves.

Back to Where It All Began

GOP already has some history in Taipei, making this return feel like more than simply another stop on the calendar.

The last time the tour came to CTP Asia Poker Arena, Chih Wei Fan emerged as the GOP Taipei Main Event champion, taking home NTD 4,323,180 (~USD 136,640). It was a significant payday from a festival that showed there was plenty of interest in what GOP was bringing to the tables.

GOP Taipei 2026 – The Titan Assembly recorded 3,135 total entries, with players from 26 countries making the money, while more than USD 2.3 million was paid out across the series. Those numbers gave GOP a strong foundation in Taipei and helped establish the venue as an important part of the tour’s early story.

Since then, GOP has continued to expand. The tour most recently made its way to Manila, where GOP Manila – The Arena of Champions attracted 1,940 entries from 32 countries and awarded more than USD 1.6 million across 114 events.

Now the series comes back to Taipei, giving the local and international poker community another opportunity to see how far the tour has come since its earlier visit.

Five GOP Gauntlets Up for Grabs

The GOP Taipei Main Event will be the centerpiece, but there is plenty more to chase throughout the ten-day schedule.

Five GOP Gauntlets will be up for grabs throughout the festival, with trophies awarded across the Main Event, Super High Roller, Titan Stack High Roller, Demigods Challenge, and High Roller Champion. With major titles spread across the schedule, there will be plenty at stake as players chase one of GOP’s signature trophies before the festival wraps up.

The range of buy-ins also makes the series accessible to a wide mix of players. Events start from NTD 3,500 (~USD 100), while those looking for a much bigger challenge can enter the NTD 320,000 (~USD 10,000) Demigods Challenge. That spread allows the festival to cater to players taking their first shot as well as established tournament regulars looking for higher-stakes action.
