Gods of Poker (GOP) Taipei 2026 | Jan 8 - 18 | CTP Asia Poker Arena
The Gods of Poker (GOP) brand new mythology-themed tournament series, “The Titan Assembly”, arrives in the heart of Taipei to revolutionize live poker. The event will take place from January 8 to January 18, 2026, at the world-famous Asia Poker Arena (CTP) in Taiwan. A unique feature of the festival is the innovative “Cronus structure”, named after the Ruler of the Titans and the God of Time: this system guarantees deeper gameplay and ensures tournaments do not run until dawn.
The Titan Assembly Highlighted Events
The festival structure is unique in the poker world. The “Cronus” concept aims to ensure players are well-rested, so tournament days are scheduled to finish at a reasonable time (no play until 5 AM).
- Main Event: 120-60-30 BB depth until registration closes.
- Titans Event: Extra deep, 160-80-40 BB structure.
- Kraken Stack: A reimagined “Monster Stack” starting with 200-100-50 BB.

Poker & Travel Guide
Taiwan (and especially Taipei) is one of Asia’s safest and most welcoming poker destinations. The city is a stunning blend of a modern metropolis and traditional Chinese culture. For poker players, Taipei is a true paradise: excellent food, vibrant nightlife, and world-class tournaments await, all with extremely convenient transportation. The area around Asia Poker Arena is packed with restaurants and entertainment venues, guaranteeing relaxation outside the game.
Official Poker Guide (Rules, Structures)
GOP events follow the latest TDA (Tournament Directors Association) rules, with some specific additions for smoother gameplay.
- Big Blind Ante Format: The Ante-First rule applies to all tournaments. If a player does not have enough chips for both, the Ante is paid first, and only the remainder goes to the Big Blind.
- Shot Clock: The use of a “Shot Clock” depends on the Tournament Director’s decision. Generally, if introduced:
- Players have 30 seconds for every decision.
- Every player receives Time Bank cards (exact number depends on the structure).
- Time cards are automatically renewed/replenished at the Final Table.
- Deal Making: Deals are allowed but must be approved by the Tournament Director. Deals can be based on ICM or Chip Chop. In certain cases, play for the trophy must continue, and a portion of the prize pool (e.g., 10%) must be reserved for the winner.
- Cards and Devices: The use of any electronic devices (phones, tablets) is prohibited while a player has a live hand.
Registration & Buy-in Information
- How to Register: Registration takes place at the counter on the ground floor of the Asia Poker Arena. A CTP membership card is mandatory (one-time registration, passport required).
- Currency: The official tournament currency is the New Taiwan Dollar (TWD).
- Payment Methods: Cash (TWD) is the fastest. Certain credit cards are accepted at the venue, but transaction fees may apply.
- Location: CTP Club Asia Poker Arena (B1-2F), No. 32, Section 3, Bade Rd, Songshan District, Taipei City.
Destination Guide & Must See
Taipei offers plenty of attractions during tournament breaks:
- Taipei 101: The city’s iconic skyscraper with an observatory on the 89th floor.
- Raohe Night Market: Just minutes from the casino! Taste the famous “Pepper Bun” and local street food specialties.
- Xiangshan (Elephant Mountain): A short hiking trail offering the best photo opportunities of the city.
Travel Essentials
- Airport Transfer: Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) is about 40-50 minutes from the city.
- Taxi/Uber: The most comfortable option. Cost is approx. 1200-1500 TWD (~40-50 USD).
- MRT (Metro): The Airport MRT Express train takes you to Taipei Main Station for about 150 TWD, from where you can take a taxi or the Green Line metro (to Songshan Station) to the venue.
- Getting Around: Taipei’s public transport is world-class. The MRT (metro) is clean, fast, and cheap. Taxis and Uber are also easily accessible and reliable. Avoid unofficial taxis.
- Finances: Taiwan’s official currency is TWD. It is worth exchanging money at the airport or using ATMs (7-Eleven and FamilyMart are on every corner and accept foreign cards).
- Safety: Taipei is extremely safe; you can walk the streets day and night with peace of mind. Pickpocketing is rare, but it is worth watching your valuables in crowded night markets.

The Tournament Experience
The Arena is strictly a tournament destination, as cash games are not permitted under Taiwan’s current legal framework. Buy-ins for daily events usually range from TWD 1,000 to TWD 4,000 (~$30–$125), making it accessible for local enthusiasts.
For the more serious grinders, the venue hosts major regional series like the Taiwan Millions Tournament (TMT) , Zodiac Series of Poker (ZSOP) , Players Series (PS) , Asia Poker Championship (APC) , and Ola Poker Tour . During these festivals, buy-ins scale significantly, with Main Events around TWD 9,000–45,000 (~$285–$1,425) and High Roller events reaching upwards of TWD 100,000. The facility even includes a dedicated section for Match Poker, a team-based variation that has gained significant traction in Taiwan.
