GOP Taipei 2026 Day 6 Recap: Main Event Flights B and C Complete as High Roller Action Builds
Day 6 of GOP Taipei 2026 delivered another long and busy day at CTP Asia Poker Arena , with two more Main Event flights reaching their conclusion, the Titan Stack High Roller beginning its opening stages, and steady side-event action continuing across the floor.
As the series moves past the midway point, the Main Event field continues to take shape, while familiar names remain active across multiple formats.
Main Event Flight B: Jihoon Song Sets the Pace
Flight B of the GOP Taipei 2026 Main Event attracted 92 entries and played deep into the schedule before the bubble finally burst just ahead of the end of Level 12. When play wrapped up, Jihoon Song sat atop the counts with 1,840,000, having built his stack through a patient grind during short-handed play.
Song avoided major confrontations early and steadily accumulated chips as the field thinned. His measured approach paid off as the bubble approached, allowing him to close the night comfortably in front.

Second in chips was Shen Bo Yu, who bagged 1,580,000 after knocking out two opponents holding pocket kings during the late stages of play. Marc Rivera , fresh from his Demigods Challenge victory, rounded out the top three with 1,130,000. Rivera’s climb to seven figures began with a key double holding aces against Kang Chien Shao, followed by several pots won off the same opponent before the close of the day.
One of the more memorable hands of the flight came early when a three-way all-in developed on the flop and Chang Hyuk eliminated two players after making the nut flush. Another tense moment unfolded between Rivera and Gyeongbyeong Lee, who used up fifteen time bank cards before ultimately folding his hand.
Main Event Flight C: Seokyoung Lee Dominates Turbo Flight
The evening’s turbo Flight C offered the fastest structure of the Main Event so far, with two 60-minute registration levels followed by 20-minute levels once registration closed. The format attracted 42 entries, with only six players advancing to the money.
By the time the field reached the final table, Seokyoung Lee had established a clear lead and never relinquished control. Lee bagged 1,550,000, finishing as the Flight C chip leader after applying consistent pressure through the bubble stage.

Kevin Choi closed the night second in chips with 1,390,000, while Tom Verbruggen followed with 800,000. Several hands defined the late stages, including Shun Yi Zheng briefly surging before being stopped by Choi, whose ace-jack held against pocket jacks. The bubble finally burst when Zheng was eliminated, allowing the remaining six players to lock up a payout.
All Main Event survivors from Flights A, B, and C will now enjoy a short break before returning on January 16 for Day 2, each guaranteed a share of the TWD 21,000,000 prize pool.
Titan Stack High Roller Begins
High-stakes action also picked up with the opening flights of the Titan Stack High Roller, which drew a combined 25 entries across two starting flights.
Flight A was dominated by Gi Boum Kim, who bagged a commanding 1,945,000, equivalent to 129 big blinds, placing him well clear of the field. Rudy Edenata and Elmer Kalaquian also advanced from the flight. In Flight B, Andrew Han emerged as chip leader with 1,008,000, closely followed by Seung Hyuk Jung on 802,000. The five remaining players will return on January 14 to contest the Final Day.

Side Events Continue Across the Schedule
Side-event action remained constant throughout the day, with multiple tournaments reaching their conclusions as players balanced Main Event ambitions with opportunities elsewhere on the schedule. Among the notable results was Yohn Paredes , who won the Titan Stack – Turbo after navigating a 39-entry field.

Liang Su added another strong local result by taking down the 5-Card PL Omaha Double Board Bomb Pot – Turbo, finishing ahead of Alfie Adam in second place. The night closed with Chia Yun Wu claiming victory in the Hyper Turbo High Roller, defeating Po Ching Lee heads up to secure the title.
With side events running steadily from early afternoon into the late hours, trophies continued to change hands as the festival maintained its pace across all buy-in levels.
