Day 2 of GOP Taipei 2026: The Titan Assembly gathered momentum at CTP Asia Poker Arena , as a growing international contingent joined the action in Taipei. With players arriving from across Hong Kong, Korea, Thailand, and the Philippines, the Gods of Poker festival continued to build pace during its second full day of play.

Another round of trophies was awarded on Friday, producing the first two-time winners of the series. By the end of Day 2, both Hanh Tran and Martijn Gerrits had added a second title to their collections, while the Player of the Series race began to take clearer shape.

GOP Olympians Completes All Entry Flights

The day’s headline attraction was once again GOP Olympians, which wrapped up its final three starting flights. Flights D, E, and F attracted 210 entries, bringing the total field to 351 entries and pushing the prize pool to TWD 3,639,168, well beyond the TWD 3,000,000 guarantee.

By the close of play, 30 additional players had advanced, joining the earlier qualifiers to form a 51-player final-day field, all guaranteed a minimum payout of TWD 19,900. The eventual champion will walk away with TWD 771,968 and the Silver Spartan trophy.

Flight D proved the most popular, drawing 105 entries and advancing 15 players. Shi Rong Wang topped the flight with 1,015,000 chips, moving into second place overall behind Flight A leader Kuan Lun Chen, who retained the overall chip lead with 1,057,000.

Kouichi Baba built his 898,000-chip stack through a series of eliminations, while Billy Jazha Alfonso staged a dramatic comeback after dropping to ten big blinds, surviving multiple all-ins to bag 671,000. The flight concluded when Guo You Kuo eliminated Wai Kit Law on the bubble.

Flight E saw Shan Wang finish as chip leader with 624,000, while the final turbo flight ended with Alan Lau surging late to claim the Flight F chip lead with 752,000, delivering the bubble and sealing his place among the top stacks.

The Olympians final day begins on January 10 at 12:30 PM, with blinds starting at 6,000-12,000 and 30-minute levels.

Single Day High Roller Produces Day’s Biggest Payday

The Single Day High Roller returned on Day 2 with a TWD 70,000 buy-in, attracting five entries and generating a TWD 302,400 prize pool.

Indonesia’s Rudy Edenata emerged victorious, claiming the Gold Spartan trophy and the largest payout of the day. Edenata previously picked up a Shield trophy at the GOP launch in Jeju, and with this latest win, adds another marquee title to his growing collection.

Gerrits Secures Second Title of the Series

After opening the festival with a High Roller victory on Day 1, Gerrits returned to the winner’s circle on Day 2. The Dutchman topped the Hyper Turbo Double Board Single Winner, a TWD 10,000 buy-in event that drew six entries.

Gerrits claimed TWD 33,364 for the win, finishing ahead of Canada’s Dong Yan, and became the first player of the series to notch two victories in consecutive days.

Mixed Games Continue to Deliver

Mixed-game formats once again featured prominently on the Day 2 schedule. The Limit Triple Draw Mix (2-7, A-5, Badugi) crowned Tran as champion, earning him a Shield trophy and marking his second win of the festival after taking down a 5-Card PLO event on opening day.

Tran’s results now give him three cashes, officially qualifying him for the Player of the Series race and pushing him into the early lead on the leaderboard.

Elsewhere in the mixed-game lineup, Taiwan’s Chia Yun Wu captured the 6-Card PL Omaha Hyper Turbo, topping a 20-entry field that included eight re-entries to win TWD 85,380. Chiu Hu Yen and Hsu Yong Jun rounded out the podium.

Demigods Challenge Brings First Gauntlet Into Play

Attention now turns to Day 3, where the first Gauntlet of the festival will be awarded at the Demigods Challenge. Scheduled for January 10, the event carries a TWD 330,000 buy-in, begins at 2:00 PM, and features a 120,000-chip starting stack, with registration remaining open until 4:15 PM. Approximately 13.5% of the field is set to reach the money.

With another full day in the books, GOP Taipei continues to build as more players arrive and the schedule moves toward its highest-stakes events.
