The curtain has come down on GOP Manila 2026 . Czardy Rivera took down the Kraken Stack, while Lester Edoc completed a four-to-one comeback in the GOP High Roller for the festival’s final gauntlet, and his second.

Martijn Gerrits was crowned Player of the Series for the third time, capping off ten days at City of Dreams Manila .

Rivera Claims the Kraken Stack

Rivera topped a field of 80 entries in the PHP 55,000 Kraken Stack to bank PHP 1,400,000.

Speaking after the win, Rivera said the moment was made sweeter by having family in the room. “I’m extremely happy and very grateful for the win,” he said. “Especially winning with my family here watching me, so it’s extra special.”

He credited patience for getting him through a final table where he was rarely the short stack but never the leader either. “I was just finding the right spots because I was a little bit short all throughout the final table,” he said. “I was middling stacks all the way, so I had to be extra careful, because some of the players were aggressively putting pressure on the short stacks. I was laddering, and just trying to pick up the good spots to double up.”

Asked about his experience with GOP as a series, Rivera didn’t hold back. “This is actually one of my favorite series, because a lot of people don’t appreciate the structures,” he said. “It really saves the players’ time, and it’s really, really good – especially the Main Event. I really like it.”

Edoc Overcomes 4-to-1 Deficit for Second Gauntlet

In the PHP 220,000 GOP High Roller , Edoc took down the festival’s final gauntlet of the series, defeating Gary Thompson heads-up from a roughly 4-to-1 chip disadvantage to collect PHP 2,400,000.

“Feels good, of course – feels great, so happy for the second one,” Edoc said after the win. Asked how he approached heads-up play against a long-time friend, he kept it simple. “I’ve played with him a long time, we’re friends for a long time, so we know each other. I just played my hand – if I had it, I’d go for it.” He laughed before adding, “If I don’t have it, I still go for it. That’s what happened. I’m just a lucky two-bullet guy.”

On what he’d tell anyone considering playing a GOP event, Edoc pointed to what sets the tour apart. “The trophy is different from other events, and the structure is different too, so you should try it,” he said.

Gerrits capped off the festival by claiming the Player of the Series title for the third time, finishing with 13 cashes and 7 trophies across the ten days. His run included a total prize figure of $18,070 (22nd on the festival’s overall money list) and an SPI Index score of 2,334, good for 4th overall.

Six further titles changed hands to close out the schedule. Chiyuan You won The Closer Mystery Bounty for PHP 177,600, and Tony Khoang claimed the 5-Card PL Omaha Double Board Bomb Pot for PHP 144,000. Po Sheng Tseng took the Last Chance High Roller for PHP 792,000, while Alvir Inocentes added the Titan Stack Turbo to his festival tally for PHP 108,000. Brad Allan Bowden won the Big O Turbo for PHP 43,200, and Thanh Cao Nguyen closed the festival winning the Turbo High Roller for PHP 230,400.

That brings GOP Manila – The Arena of Champions to a close, ten days and 82 events after it began, with GOP set to land in Taipei for its next edition .
