Road To Victory

The day began rather quiet for Horace Leung, not getting tangled into too many pots, picking his spots carefully and reaching the final table as 4th in chips.

His incredible run to the trophy started on hand 27 of the final table – littered with bad beats for and against nearly every player at some point – when he extracted 23 big blinds from Kristof Segers with Q♦Q♣ against K♠J♠ on the board K♦Q♠7♠10♦7♥ that put him in the shared lead with Yoda Lin at the time. He continued to chip up and got another major boost with K♠Q♣ against Daniel Yang’s Q♦10♥ on a dream board Q♠4♠8♣7♠Q♥ that saw him capture 42% of chips in play with 5 players remaining.

From then on Leung was unstoppable, eliminating Daniel Yang in 4th with a flush, Segers in 3rd with A♦10♦ against Q♠Q♥ finding an ace from space on the river and putting the cherry on top eliminating Chee Chen for the title with Queen-Seven lucking out against King-Queen, hitting a seven on the turn.
