Players Series Championship Returns To Taipei This August Feat. TWD 55M In Guarantees
The Players Series Championship, in cooperation with Natural8 and the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association, is back for another full-fledged festival this August. Fairly new to the live arena, the young brand may only have two festivals under its belt but it has already captured the attention of players in the region. Its biggest ace? Accessibility. Ambitious recreational players and poker grinders will be happy to see that its mid-range of prices start at TWD 3,000 (~USD 105) and climb to just TWD 25,000 (~USD 860). For those chasing bigger thrills, buy-ins are just as friendly to the wallet, from TWD 33,000 (~USD 1,111) to TWD 120,000 (~USD 4,040).
Browsing the schedule, the festival features 72 events across twelve days and TWD 55 Million (~USD 1.9 Million) in guaranteed prize pools. All the action takes place at the CTP Asia Poker Arena in Taipei City. So as you start plugging in the dates August 21 to September 1, 2025, here’s an invitation from Players Series Vice President Alex Wong:
We are really excited for PS Championship II Taipei 2025—it’s shaping up to be our biggest and most inclusive event yet. We’ve got a great mix of High Roller events with buy-ins to suit all kinds of players, from seasoned pros to passionate newcomers. We’ve also expanded our Women’s Events to six, each awarding a limited-edition, pink-themed trophy to the champion. Whether you’re chasing a title or just love the atmosphere, there’s something here for everyone. Come on over!
Two Main Events At Players Series Championship II Taipei
Just like its debut edition, the Players Series Championship II launches straight into the action with not one, but two Main Events running back-to-back. The excitement begins right from opening day, as the first one hits the felt. From August 21 to 25 is the Natural8 Open Main Event, boasting a guaranteed prize pool of TWD 7 million (~USD 241,000).
Natural8 Open Main Event Schedule
- Buy-in: TWD 16,500 (~USD 570)
- Guarantee: TWD 7,000,000 (~USD 241,000)

- August 22: Day 1C & Day 1C
- August 23: Day 1E & Day 1F
- August 24: Day 2

This event has already proven its worth when it sailed past the guarantee on its debut run. The 597 field pushed the prize pool to TWD 8.5 Million and the first ever champion, Wang Wei Hsiang, shipped TWD 1,439,000 (~USD 43,935). That’s quite a bankroll to kick off his series run! With these strong numbers and the brand’s wings continuing to spread across the region, players can expect an event bigger turnout and larger returns.
Players Series Championship Main Event
One day after the first Main Event champion is crowned, the hunt for the next one begins. The Players Series Championship Main Event takes command of the floor starting August 27 and continues until one player seizes the glory on September 1.
As the brand’s crown jewel, this flagship tournament will be the most coveted especially after its inaugural success that drew 862 runners and a prize pool of TWD 24.3 Million (~USD 744K). In addition, the champion, Yu Chien Kung, turned his TWD 33,000 buy-in a jaw dropping one hundred times over for a massive TWD 3.6 Million (~USD 110K) payday.
Sticking to its winning formula, Players Series keeps the buy-in set at TWD 33,000 (~USD 1,135) and the guarantee at TWD 20 Million (~USD 688,300). Once again, a total of seven starting flights are available, opening up plenty of chances for deep runs and a spot in the money round.

High Roller Events
Of course, seasoned pros will have their hands full with a solid lineup from start to finish. The most expensive is the Superstar Challenge, an event popularized in Vietnam. At the previous edition, this event more than quadrupled its initial offering, turning the TWD 2M guarantee to a huge TWD 9M prize pool. Taiwan’s Meng Ling Lin outlasted the 87-entry field to capture her first Players Series title. Listed below are all the High Roller Events ready to be marked in your calendars.
High Roller Early Bird Packages
With the High Roller events aimed more towards the traveling poker pros from nearby places such as South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, and the Philippines, High Roller Early Bird Packages have been made available. There are four types of packages listed with the Elite Package offering up to 11 complimentary nights! However this is on a first come first serve basis and upon room availability. Payment must be completed by August 15, 2025.
Ladies Events
It wasn’t too long ago that festivals featured just one single women’s event in its entire lineup. But with the number of female players rising rapidly, it’s no surprise to now see multiple events on the schedule. At the Players Series, a total of six women’s events are on tap, headlined by the Women’s Championship. Adding a special touch, each champion will be awarded a unique pink Players Series trophy.
Other Events
In addition to all of the events mentioned above, the lineup is filled with numerous single day events that are perfect for players not willing or able to do the long haul. As usual there are bounty events, deepstack, mixed games, freezeouts, six handed, and even short deck and crazy pineapple.
There is also a Juniors Event for players aged 25 and younger, Seniors Event for players 50 years and older, and Tag Team Event.
Be sure to check the schedule for all of the details.
