Day 2 Recap

Day 2 got underway with late registration quickly closing and the numbers posted on the screens. From the NTD 15 Million prize pool, the minimum payout was set at NTD 38,000 (~US$ 1,169) and a mighty NTD 2,503,000 (~US$ 77,000) awaiting the eventual champion.

Just past the sixth hour, 112 players got that wish with the money bubble bursting. Chean Wen Chen‘s pocket Queens was cracked by a king on the board.

With the money ensured, shoves were rampant as short stacks were no longer afraid to go big or go bust. Among the early ITM players were Patrick Liang, Li-Ta Hsu, Martin Gonzales, Tanaka Masatoshi, Wilson Tan, Corine Shi, Simon Lim, and Armon Van Wijk.

One the brighter side, the day’s biggest movers were Korea’s Jinsoo Kim and Taiwan’s Chunyao Hou, both players climbing from the bottom ten at the start of the day to bag up decent stacks for Day 3. Other impressive risers were Ruei Jiun Liang and the highly decorated Zong Chi He, both coming from the middle of the pack to secure positions just below the chip leader.

That high title was claimed by Chen Po Jui who bagged the Day 1B chip lead, entered Day 2 running second in chips, then pushed it to the top notch bagging a massive 1,527,000 (127 bb). The hand that sent him there was the elimination of Yoda Lin to signal the end of the heat with pocket Aces over pocket Eights.

Day 2 wrapped up with 47 players remaining. Among the other survivors were Liao Bo Lin, Nick Lai, Suya Lee, WSOP bracelet winner Lok Chan, Kai Hung Hu, and Vivian Lo. Check out the full list via the link provided.
