The launch of the brand new Win Win Poker Club in the center of Taipei City drew a full house with five different tournament flights running in what is shaping up to be one of the new popular venues for live poker in Taiwan . Two events were taking place on February 26, 2026, and the first of them to crown a champion was the one-day Superstar Invitational.

Featuring a mix of celebrities, social media influencers, local poker enthusiasts, and a select few poker pros from Taiwan, the atmosphere was very jovial from start to finish. The hosts added TWD 300,000 to the prize pool, and the top 15 spots were guaranteed a part of it. However, when heads-up play was reached in a field of 117 entries, none of the usual suspects were battling for the title, but instead two Asian industry specialists went back and forth to claim the first trophy in the brand new Win Win Poker Club .

Malaysia Poker Federation founder Simon Lim had a tough task against K Poker Cup tournament director Jasper Chu as the latter boasted a comfortable chip advantage. Eventually, it took slightly more than two dozen hands of one-versus-one to crown a champion, and Chu got the job done to claim the top prize of TWD 80,000 while Lim had to settle for TWD 50,000. Both players were responsible for all but one elimination on the final table.

Three tables were running in the first level, and the number of entries quickly surpassed 40 players, with the first casualty coming in the opening level with 60 big blinds to boot. The field size more than doubled in the first level, and despite the deep structure, nearly half a dozen stacks vanished into thin air before the blinds increased.

Among the notable local poker pros from Taiwan to enter the fray were Chen-An Lin , Pete Chen , Chien-Chih “Maggie” Weng , and Meng-Ling “Candy” Lin who all already boast impressive results on home soil and in international competitions. The latter, especially, has been widely considered as one of the rising stars of the Asian poker scene with two six-figure scores in 2025, which boosted her career earnings to nearly $1.6 million, subsequently becoming the GPI Player of the Year in Taiwan.

Justin Chu also made a rare appearance on home soil after his many international exploits, which have seen his live cashes rise to more than $4 million in the last few years. Osaka Gold Dragon’s Yuji Kawata and Taiwanese online streamer Chao-Ting Cheng also entered, but none of the poker pros reached the top 15 spots in the money.

That feat was achieved by famous Taiwanese movie actor Jack Kao, who was among those to cut the ribbons during the opening ceremony and then jumped into the poker action thereafter. Many of the PokerQueen squad showcased their poker talents in the event as well but only Miya would reach the money spots in the fast-paced structure.

When the action became more tense, eventual runner-up Lim was on the verge of becoming the massive chip leader on the final three tables after finding a dream scenario with pocket aces, facing ace-queen suited and pocket kings. “I need clubs,” Kuan Han Lee declared and he spiked the flush on the river for the triple up. At almost the same time one table over, Chu won a flip with pocket fives against the ace-king of PokerQueen Lyla Ho to join the big stacks. He then held with top pair against an open-ended straight draw and further built his large chip tower.

Leading up to the bubble, Chu seemed unstoppable as he then also made quads with pocket queens versus pocket tens and soon after, the final two tables were reached. Within two hands, the field was on the direct bubble as Brian Chung scored a knockout with aces versus ace-queen preflop. The hero thanks to Lady Luck not long ago, Lee then bubbled in a somewhat unusual cooler after jamming for 19 big blinds with six-deuce on the button. Lim called with sevens in the small blind and flopped sevens full, latter admitting during a break that he was playing for the win and not care too much about ICM.

The Malaysian player then knocked out Kao and in the blink of an eye, the final table was set a couple of minutes later which PokerQueen Miya narrowly missed. She was knocked out by the red-hot running Chu with a jack-high straight against versus seven-nine for a full house. Yicheng Jeng ultimately burst the last bubble of the evening with ace-jack versus king-jack to reduce the tournament to a single table.

Final Table Action

After moving to the feature table area, the action kicked off with a bang. Lim shoved the button into two short stacks with ace-seven and Siu Ren Chen called with the superior ace-king only to see the seven appear right in the window. Shi Hao Hoang suffered a major setback in a clash of pocket pairs when his pocket tens turned Broadway only for the pocket kings of Wei Shin Liu to river a full house. His last two big blinds vanished with a suited nine as Lim’s king-trey notched up the second knockout in a row.

The wrecking ball performance of Lim didn’t stop right there, as he also won a flip with ace-king against the pocket tens of Chun Yu Yeh with a king on the river to make it three in a row. Number four was denied in somewhat unusual fashion when Po Ren Chen jammed first to act with seven-deuce off suit and cracked Lim’s jack-ten to stay alive for the last three blinds. Chu then took over to claim chips off Chung and Jeng to reach more than seven figures.

Po Ren Chen earned one more double before his fate was sealed with rags, as six-trey stood no chance to beat the pocket sixes of Liu with the case six making an appearance on a jack-high runout. The hero in that hand happened to be the next player to bust, as Liu four-bet jammed twenty-two blinds with pocket tens. Chip leader Chu reluctantly called with pocket jacks and left his opponent drawing dead on the turn to storm into an overwhelming lead.

Lim’s next sweat with a big premium pocket pair came when he jammed the small blind holding pocket kings. The now short-stacked Chung called with queen-jack suited and flopped a flush draw only to hit two bricks thereafter. Chu was responsible for the next knockout after his king-queen held against the king-seven all-in call by Jeng and the arguably two of the most active players on the final three tables were heads-up for the trophy after all.

The lead of Chu was never in danger despite an early rally of his opponent. After a hero-call with queen-high that was beaten by king-high, Lim dropped to a shorter stack and the duel came to an end after more than two dozen hands. Chu pushed all-in with nine-eight suited and Lim called with ace-seven, which ended up second-best when an eight appeared on the flop.
