He began his live poker career in 2018, securing his first title in only his second tournament at the Poker Master Taiwan Millions Tournament (TMT), and went on to accumulate 29 total titles on his résumé. A bulk of his early success came from winning local high-roller and the Single Day High Roller events in Taiwan. Following an unsuccessful initial foray into the WSOP in 2022, Chu began competing regularly abroad, notably cashing at the WPT Prime Cambodia and securing his first major foreign victory at the WPT Prime Gold Coast Mystery Bounty in Australia in 2023.

In 2020, while the world was on lockdown because of the pandemic, Taiwan’s early response and exemplary handling of health protocols allowed the country to continue its social events, including live poker play.
