Chaar-Lee is the Editor-in-Chief and Technical Architect of SoMuchPoker. With over 20 years across poker media, television production, and enterprise software development — including WorldSkills and EuroSkills recognition as a mentor and expert — he brings rare depth to every editorial and technical decision on this platform. He works exclusively on international poker and iGaming markets.
Csaba Szirják - SOMUCHPOKER
Chaar-Lee is the Editor-in-Chief of SoMuchPoker and the Architect behind the platform’s technical infrastructure. He joined SoMuchPoker in 2023 and has since led the editorial and technological transformation of the site - overseeing content strategy, the development of the SoMuchPoker Index (SPI), and every major technical innovation on the platform. Under his leadership, SoMuchPoker has re-established itself as Asia-Pacific’s leading poker media destination.
Beyond poker, Chaar-Lee serves as CTO and COO, where he audits and architects AI and SaaS systems for enterprise integration. His dual role across poker media and technology gives him a perspective that few in the iGaming industry share: the ability to evaluate both editorial strategy and technical infrastructure at the same level of depth.
Based in Hungary, he works exclusively on international markets.
Two Decades in the Poker Industry
Chaar-Lee’s involvement in poker spans more than 20 years, beginning with fixed-limit games before the global rise of No-Limit Hold’em. In the early years, he and his circle regularly explored more than 40 different poker formats in a single night - a period that built a format-agnostic understanding of the game that informs his editorial approach today.
His involvement quickly moved beyond the table. In 2007, he organized the first poker camp in Hungary - a week-long live event that became a recurring annual fixture and helped establish a generation of Hungarian poker players. The format ran for multiple consecutive years and remains one of the earliest structured poker education initiatives in the region.
Poker Television & Production
Chaar-Lee has contributed to nearly every Hungarian-produced poker television show - close to ten domestic productions - working as a technical contributor and production specialist at a time when live poker coverage was expanding rapidly across Central Europe.
His most internationally recognized production credit is Face The Pro, a poker television format featuring professional player Gus Hansen. Chaar-Lee provided the technical infrastructure for the show, which was broadcast across ten countries - one of the widest international distributions achieved by a poker format with Hungarian production roots.
Software Development, AI & Enterprise Technology
Chaar-Lee brings over 20 years of executive-level software engineering experience to his work at SoMuchPoker. His career spans roles as Tribe Tech Lead, VP of Engineering, CTO, and COO across projects in fintech, enterprise infrastructure, and AI systems.
In Hungary, he has contributed to large-scale national technology projects including the banking sector and public infrastructure programs. At the international level, he was part of the development team behind Canvas, one of the leading LMS systems in its category on the global market.
This engineering background directly shapes how SoMuchPoker is built - from the architecture of the SPI player ranking system to site performance, data infrastructure, and the platform’s long-term technical roadmap.
WorldSkills & EuroSkills - International Recognition
Since 2018, Chaar-Lee has served as an Expert and mentor in the global vocational skills community, representing Hungary at both WorldSkills and EuroSkills - the world championship of professional skills.
His mentorship has produced results at the highest international level:
- EuroSkills - Gold Medal in IT Software Solutions for Business
- WorldSkills - Bronze Medal in IT Software Solutions for Business
He has also served as an official Expert and judge at WorldSkills Lyon 2024 and the WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition, where he was responsible for defining standards and evaluating global excellence in software development. These credentials are independently verified through WorldSkills International and Credly.
This role requires continuous evaluation of emerging technologies against strict international benchmarks - a discipline that carries directly into how SoMuchPoker assesses platforms, tools, and technical partners.
Editorial Philosophy
Chaar-Lee’s approach to poker media is built on a single conviction: poker is not about cards, it is about people. Every major editorial decision at SoMuchPoker - from the player-centric content strategy to the development of the SPI - reflects this belief. The numbers matter, but only because they tell us something true about the players behind them.
His editorial standard is shaped by two decades of watching how poker is discussed, argued about, and followed by real players across different cultures and markets. The Asia-Pacific region, in his view, has long deserved a poker media platform built specifically for it - not adapted from Western models, but constructed from the ground up with Asian players, tournaments, and storylines at the center.
