Ace Poker League: Elevating Korean Poker on the Global Stage

With the goal of exposing more Koreans to the international scene, in 2016 South Korean Judic Kim established Ace Poker League (APL), then known as Asia Poker League. In its first year, APL partnered with Beijing Poker Cup for its debut event in China. 

In 2018, the brand set up camp in the Philippines, becoming the first brand to host international caliber events in the northern part of the country, home to a large community of Koreans. APL also expanded its reach into Vietnam and Taiwan.

During the pandemic, the APL focused all of its attention in South Korea where it operated outside of casino establishments in larger conference rooms of hotels. The brand changed its name to Ace Poker League and went on to become the largest live tour in the country, hosting blockbuster events in Seoul, Daegu, and Seongnam. In 2023, APL returned to the Philippines for its first event in the country under the new name.
