Early Champions Crowned As APL Taipei Main Event Gets Set To Launch

For the past four days, the Ace Poker League has taken over Taiwan hosting its highly missed APL Taipei series at the Asia Poker Arena. Since cards went flying on June 7, a wave of action has seen 25 champions emerge with Chiachi Lin, Meining Feng, Hao Lin, and two-time series winner Hyunsup Kim among the highlights. APL Taipei Main Event Kicks Off

With the festival nearly at halfway point, the spotlight shifts to the crown jewel, the Main Event, which kicks off today, June 11, featuring a NT$ 21 Million guarantee. Already getting some early practice at the side events is the inaugural APL Taipei champion, Chi Jen Chen, who is looking to make another deep run on home turf. He is joined by a roster of seasoned contenders such as Jae Wook Shin, Chih Wei Fan, Anton Lu, Hsuan Yu Lai, Alan King Lun Lau, and Jack Liew.

All players begin with a stack of 40,000 however blind level durations could vary depending on the flight selected. See below for the structures.
For Flight A, Flight C, Flight E:
- Level 1-4 will see blinds increase every 25 minutes
- Level 5-7 will see blinds increase every 40 minutes
- Level 8-11 will see blinds increase every 55 minutes
- Late registration closes at the end of Level 11
- Play resumes with levels increasing every 40 minutes
- Players bag up when 15% of the field is reached
For Flight B, Flight D, Flight F:
- Level 1-4 will see blinds increase every 20 minutes
- Level 5-7 will see blinds increase every 25 minutes
- Level 8-11 will see blinds increase every 30 minutes
- Late registration closes at the end of Level 11
- Play resumes with levels increasing every 25 minutes
- Players bag up when 15% of the field is reached

Career High Score For Chiachi Lin At APL Kick Off
Local players came out in full force for the APL Kick Off which featured a NT$ 3 Million guarantee. With 505 entries gathered across four starters, the prize pool surged well over for a healthier NT$ 4,314,720, distributed to 76 players that reached the money round. In a heads up deal between Chiawei Hsu and Chiachi Lin, Hsu was awarded the higher payout of NT$ 682,200 while Lin went on to claim the title along with a career high score of NT$ 670,220.

Second Series Win For Hyunsup Kim
Korean pro Hyunsup Kim is running red hot at APL Taipei, as he opened with a victory at the NLH Turbo, finished 2nd at the HR Hyper Turbo, then shipped a second title at the NT$ 40K High Roller Single Day. On his latest win, Kim outlasted a field of 18 runners that included Chih Wei Fan, and Chia Yun Wu. He earned the lion's share of NT$ 622,080 for a payout of NT$ 273,780 (~US$ 9,135).

Hao Lin Ships High Roller Single Day
2025 has been a very fruitful year for Hong Kong's Hao Lin with all of his nine cashes landing final tables including two victories. His hot run continues at APL Taipei where he added another title to his portfolio. Lin bested the High Roller Single Day on June 10 to claim his first APL trophy and a payout of NT$ 331,740 (~US$ 11,070). The event drew 32 entries, each one ponying up the NT$ 30,000 (~US$ 1,000) buy-in for a prize pool of NT$ 829,440 (~US$ 27,680). Among the 5 players that cashed was Korea's Wooseok Kim, who won the first event of its kind on opening day. For this edition, Kim finished in 4th place.

Seungwon Lee Defends Ground At The Freezeout
The first Freezeout event attracted 17 warriors to the plate at NT$ 15,000 (~US$ 500) each for a prize pool of NT$ 217,872 (~US$ 7,270). Despite the light turnout, Seungwon Lee came out swinging, turning his single bullet into a payday of NT$ 108,872 (~US$ 3,635). Freezeout formats are Lee's territory having won one and finished runner-up at past series. Lee denied Singapore's Beng Hong Ker who also placed 2nd at the earlier NLH Turbo.

Gyeongbeom Kim Wins First Title At NLH Turbo 2
The NLH Turbo 2 brought in a crowd of 46 runners making it the largest of the side events so far. With a buy in of NT$ 8,000 (~US$ 270), it generated a prize pool of NT$ 310,886 with six players earning a share. Gyeongbeom Kim emerged at the top of the heap to earn a sizable return of NT$ 121,286 and his first known live title. Kim also secured Korea its sixth trophy of the series.
