Christian Zetzsche | Senior Journalist at SoMuchPoker
Christian Zetzsche is SoMuchPoker's Senior Journalist and Live Event Specialist, reporting live from WSOP events and major poker festivals and tours around the world. A veteran live reporter since late 2010, he has covered tournaments across nearly every continent, with South America the only major destination still missing from his travels.
A Career on the Road
I have been a live reporter on the international poker circuit since late 2010, traveling to cover major festivals and tours around the world. South America is the only region still missing from my poker bucket list, everywhere else I have already covered on the ground.
Covering the Games
My reporting spans the WSOP and major tours across Asia Pacific and beyond, from APT Incheon and the APT Championship in Taiwan to the JOPT Grand Final in Tokyo, WPT Prime Thailand, Triton Jeju, Won Poker Cup and Poker Dream Malaysia. I also cover the industry side of the game, including tournament controversies and moves like Lloyd Fontillas’ departure from the Asian Poker Tour. Pot-Limit Omaha is my favorite variant, but I cover everything from two card games to mixed rotations with up to seven.
Notes From the Floor
I still take handwritten notes with pen and paper during live coverage, and I pick up a camera during festivals when the moment calls for it. It is an old school approach, but it keeps me close to the action.
Content Philosophy
Live reporting has to hold up to scrutiny. I focus on getting results, chip counts and storylines right in real time, not just fast.
