The Lord Poker Tournament Jeju 2025

A bold new force in the high-stakes poker scene, The Lord Poker Tournament (TLPT) has been turning heads, and it’s about to make an even louder statement. This rising powerhouse is set to unleash a jaw-dropping US$ 8 Million guaranteed festival next month in Jeju, South Korea, fortifying its arrival with one of the biggest prize pools ever seen in the region.

In an interview with The Lord Poker Tournament’s very own Ivan Zhang back in May 2024, he shared the tour’s ambitions: to create a global series where they bring Asian players to new destinations such as the United States, Europe and Australia. While still in its early stages, TLPT has already tested the waters by hosting events in Australia and China as part of larger festivals.

The upcoming stop will be TLPT’s first standalone festival set to take place at one of the hottest destinations for live poker in the Asia-Pacific region – the Landing Casino within the luxurious Jeju Shinhwa World complex.

Throughout the last few years, a visit to Jeju Island has become a regular stop for major international brands such as Triton Poker, World Poker Tour, Poker Dream, and Red Dragon. TLPT will join that exclusive lineup with their own inaugural standalone stop running from May 13 to May 22, 2025. The schedule of TLPT Jeju 2025 contains 13 tournaments with an overall guarantee boasting US$ 8,000,000 (KR₩ 11,740,794,400).

Key Events

Browsing the schedule reveals that TLPT isn’t just for high rollers, instead there’s something for everyone. Buy-ins start at just US$ 500 making the festival accessible to a broad range of players. From there, it gradually escalates to a staggering US$ 50,000 for the biggest buy-in event.

Kicking off the action is a Freeroll with a generous guarantee of US$ 600,000. Players can obtain their entry ticket via the AAPoker Tournament client, an increasingly popular mobile app. Download the app here www.aapoker.app.

THE LORD POKER TOURNAMENT – Schedule

Initially, the idea for this new live poker series came a few years back but the global coronavirus pandemic delayed the planning stages. With steeper entry points that are closer to the iconic Triton Super High Roller Series, TLPT aims to keep most of the tournament buy-ins between $5k and $50k with most of the traveling companions heading from China.

While TLPT Jeju 2025 is their first standalone stop, they already hosted tournaments in cooperation with other tours. The latest one took place in March 2025 at the China Poker Games Tour Haitang. The event attracted 374 entries at a buy-in of US$ 600 for a prize pool of US$ 224,400. In attendance was top USA pro Bryn Kenney and brand ambassador Dan “Jungleman” Cates.

TLPT’s first emergence was in October 2024 at the Australian Poker Tour (APT) Brisbane Super Series with four TLPT-branded events as part of the overall schedule. Among the highlights, Pot-Limit Omaha specialist Hun Wei “Andy” Lee took down the AUD $15,000 TLPT Main Event, which drew a field of 54 entries and paid the top seven spots a share of the AUD $757,350 (~US$ 524,500) prize pool. Lee earned the trophy and AUD $205,305.

In the TLPT 25K Invitational, a buy-in unseen in the country, TLPT’s very own Quan Zhou topped a field of 34 entries to claim AUD $332,350 from a pot of AUD 794,750 (~US$ 548,557)

During the series, TLPT also hosted the first-ever licensed satellite for the Triton Poker Series and gave poker enthusiasts from Australia the chance to qualify for the high-stakes contest. Two seats were awarded. The most recent Triton stop on Jeju Island in February 2025 subsequently saw several Australian pros join for the very first time.

For future stops, TLPT is eying a possible return to Australia but they are also in ongoing negotiations to bring the brand to Cyprus.
