Fast Approaching! Inaugural WPT Prime Thailand Exhibition One Month Away

For nearly two decades, the World Poker Tour has shaped the environment of the live poker scene and visited more than 50 different countries. That is certainly more than any other global brand has done so far and another nation will be added to the list shortly. For the very first time, a live poker festival is set to take place in the Kingdom of Thailand.

WPT Prime Thailand Exhibition

Thanks to the full support of Thailand’s Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the inaugural WPT Prime Thailand Exhibition will be hosted in the heart of the country’s capital from July 30 until August 5, 2025. It is only the debut for what shapes up to be a longterm vision for the WPT in Asia and Thailand as mind sports hub. Since it is considered as a special event presented by PokerTalk, the 2025 WPT Prime Thailand Exhibition will not award any WPT Player-of-the-Year points.

WPT PRIME THAILAND EXHIBITION – Schedule

Location wise, the festival could not be any easier to reach for poker enthusiasts from near and far as the capital of Thailand is one of the major transportation hubs in the entire Asia-Pacific region. Public transport from the international airport to the world-class entertainment venue UOB LIVE on the fifth floor of the Emsphere Mall on Sukhumvit Road couldn’t be any more convenient either.

With one month to go until the start of the special event, the full schedule has been released for players to start making their travel arrangements. Perhaps, some card lovers will take some time off after a busy summer at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas and take a vacation in the popular tourist destination of Thailand, so why not combine two different pleasures at once?

Event Packages

In order to participate in this festival, players can purchase travel packages at the venue itself or accumulate WPT Global Passport Dollars, of which up to US$2,000 can be claimed to cover travel expenses. These passport dollars are a very flexible currency as they can be used on various international tournaments and even transferred to friends and family.

For the upcoming 2025 WPT Prime Thailand Exhibition, the following three travel packages can be purchased to gain entry to the tournament area:

• THB 7,000 (~USD 214)
• THB 14,000 (~USD 428)
• THB 37,000 (~USD 1,130)

The festival features a total of 25 No-Limit Hold’em and Pot-Limit Omaha tournaments as well as seven satellites with these three different buy-in levels.

WPT Prime Thailand Exhibition Championship

The crown jewel of the series is the THB 37,000 WPT Prime Thailand Exhibition Championship from August 1 to 5, 2025. Four different Day 1 are available and play until ITM before all survivors then determine a champion on the final two days of the festival.

Other notable events on the schedule include the THB 14,000 The Opener with two flights, Event #4 THB 14,000 8-Max, the THB 7,000 Ladies Event, and the Mini as well as the Micro Championship. Joint most-expensive tournament on the schedule is the THB 37,000 Event #21 Monster Stack which runs from August 4 to 5.
