Won Poker Cup Returns in May 2025 With Over $880K in Guarantees
From May 14 to 21, 2025, the Won Poker Cup returns for the third edition featuring 22 tournaments and nine satellites at the Won Majestic Hotel in Sihanoukville, Cambodia. Five of the tournaments come with prize pools totaling $880,000, of which the lion’s share is reserved for the Main Event.
Won Poker Cup III
For those just hearing of this festival, the Won Poker Cup is a new live poker series which debuted in July 2024 in Sihanoukville, Cambodia. Organized by the Won Majestic Hotel, the festival aims to increase the tournament offering in the popular beach town as most poker events have been taking place in the capital.
Attractive guarantees reaching up to seven figures confirms this ambition, and for the upcoming third edition, WPC promises another lucrative festival with five key events boasting a combined guarantee of $880,000. Adding to the value, satellites award up to two tickets per given event.
Main Event $600,000 Guarantee

The flagship tournament comes out strong once again, highlighted by its $600,000 prize pool guarantee. Like previous, players have ample chances at securing a large piece of this pie with four starting days scheduled across May 17 to 19.
Main Event Schedule
- Buy-in: $1,320
- Guarantee: $600,000

Looking back, the inaugural Won Poker Cup in July 2024 featured a $500,000 guaranteed Main Event, which was won by China’s Hong Ke in a field of 404 entries. Australia’s Armon Van Wijk finished as runner-up for $61,000, while Ke earned a top prize of $97,100.

In late November 2024, the second edition saw an increased Main Event guarantee to $600,000. Irish player Henri Hinds defeated Vietnam’s Mai Bien in a field of 361 entries for a top prize of $117,000. Hinds was also awarded the W Ring for his victory.
Other Key Events
Main Event aside, there are more affordable key events in the lineup. The $50,000 guaranteed Warm-Up comes with a buy-in of just $565 kicked off by two starting flights on opening day. For those who don’t make the cut or bust early on the final day, they can jump right into the Mystery Bounty Event which costs $675 to enter. Three flights are available on May 15 and 16, all of which give the participants a shot at the $80,000 prize pool guarantee and juicy mystery bounty prizes. The last key event on the schedule is the Mini Main Event on May 20 and 21, which comes with a buy-in of $450 and a guarantee worth $50,000.
High Roller Events

High-stakes players can also showcase their talents with two events to look forward to. The highlight is the $5,000 W High Roller on May 17 and 18 where players battle for their share of at least $100,000 in prize money. The first eight players registered prior to the start will receive a 50% rakeback on their tournament fee to entice the kick-off in timely fashion. The same promotion also exists for the opening $1,350 High Roller Warm-Up for the first 16 players on May 14.
Expected Players
The past editions of the Won Poker Cup have drawn large contingents from China, Vietnam, and India, with several players bringing home trophies such as Hong Ke, Yunsheng Sun, Vikas Shah, and Siddarth Karia to mention a few. Those players are likely to make a return including Indonesian ace Jhon Hendri, ranked fourth on The Hendon Mob’s Indonesia All-Time Money list.

During WPC II, Hendri took down two titles – the $565 Mystery Bounty Event and the $5,000 W High Roller, walking away with a combined payout of $77,800 plus bounties. He was also awarded the W Ring for his High Roller victory.
The Won Poker Cup follows right after the Asia-Pacific Poker Tour – APPT Cambodia in Phnom Penh. This scheduling will likely attract more international players again as it’s only a quick two hour drive between the two cities.
