Nevan Chang, whose formal name is Yu Chung Chang, is one of Taiwan’s most successful tournament players. He has over $5.2 million in live earnings, ranks 4th on Taiwan’s All-Time Money List, and has won 10 Asian Poker Tour titles.
A Natural8 ambassador and member of Natural8’s Team Hot, Chang is one half of WinPokerCouple with his wife, Weiwei Lin. 2026 has been the best year of his career, led by a record APT Jeju Superstar Challenge win and a 4th-place Triton finish worth $282,000.
Career Earnings & Biggest Results
According to The Hendon Mob, Nevan Chang has $5,238,933 in live tournament earnings across more than 400 cashes. That puts him 4th on Taiwan’s All-Time Money List and inside the global top 500. He is also ranked 60th on the Global Poker Index.
His biggest win came at APT Jeju 2026 in September. He beat Indonesia’s Rudy Edenata heads-up to win the Superstar Challenge for KRW 451,777,500 ($332,362). The 51-entry field was the largest since the event’s buy-in moved to USD 25,000 in 2024. The win marked his 10th APT title and earned him a seat in the APT Championship 2026 Main Event.
Just weeks earlier, he proved he belongs at the highest stakes. At Triton Jeju II, he finished 4th in the $25,000 Triton 8-Handed for $282,000.
In late 2025, he won the Mini Main Event Championship at the APT Championship in Taipei for $225,454. It was his ninth APT title, and his wife Weiwei finished 11th in the same event.
Chang has also made his mark at the WSOP in Las Vegas, especially in fast formats. In 2024, he finished 3rd in the $1,000 Super Turbo Bounty for $96,965 and went deep in the Main Event, finishing 125th for $100,000. He followed up with a 4th-place finish in the 2025 $1,000 Super Turbo for $84,733 and a 12th-place finish in the 2026 $10,000 Super Turbo Bounty for $27,471.

Biography & Poker Background
Before poker, Nevan Chang was a competitive gamer. He played Counter-Strike for the esports team UMX and represented Taiwan in tournaments worldwide.
Poker came later. In 2016, a trip to Seoul introduced him to Texas Hold’em, and he was hooked. He spent his vacation days playing in Macau, where he recorded his first live cash in January 2017 at the Asia Championship of Poker. Two months later, he won his first title there.
Away from the tables, Nevan and his wife, Weiwei Lin (Hua Wei Lin), built a career in e-commerce, starting in 2011 while he was still at university. Poker became part of their life together. They married in 2018 at a poker-themed wedding, then traveled to Las Vegas for cash-game training as Nevan shifted to a hybrid online cash-and-tournament game.
In 2019, the couple launched the WiN Poker Couple community to share poker resources and their journey from amateurs to pros. Nevan also worked as a commentator on Azio TV's “I Am Poker King”. Today, both are Natural8 ambassadors and members of Natural8’s Team Hot.
Play Style & Strategy
Nevan is known for his highly disciplined, technical approach to the game. After years of studying the mathematical side of poker, he makes sound decisions even in the most stressful moments. He is a versatile player who can adapt to different formats, but he is particularly dangerous in Turbo and Bounty events, where quick thinking and aggression are necessary.
His strategy is built on logic and observation. He is often one of the quietest players at the table, preferring to watch his opponents' patterns and look for small edges. This patient style has made him one of the most consistent "money finishers" in the world. He doesn't let emotions get in the way, which lets him stay calm whether he is playing a small local tournament or a multi-million-dollar high roller event.
