Jianfeng Sun is a Chinese poker player with more than $1.9 million in recorded live tournament earnings. A regular across major events in Asia, Sun has recorded titles and final tables with the Asian Poker Tour, World Poker Tour, Poker Dream and other regional tours. His biggest result came in October 2026 when he won the record-breaking APT Jeju Main Event for KRW 427,565,000 (~$319,080), two years after finishing runner-up in the same event.

According to The Hendon Mob, Jianfeng Sun has more than $1.9 million in recorded live tournament earnings and ranks inside the top 50 on China's All-Time Money List.
Sun recorded the biggest cash of his career during APT Jeju 2026 at LES A Casino in South Korea.
He topped a record 1,375-entry field in the KRW 2,700,000 APT Main Event, defeating Steve Ng heads-up to claim the Gold Mega Lion trophy and KRW 427,565,000 (~$319,080).
The tournament generated a record KRW 3,207,600,000 (~$2.39 million) prize pool, comfortably surpassing its KRW 2.2 billion guarantee.
The pair agreed a heads-up deal that guaranteed Ng the larger payout before playing on for the trophy and an additional KRW 23.6 million. Sun overcame the chip deficit to secure the title and also earned a seat to the APT Championship Taipei 2026 Main Event.

The victory came two years after Sun finished runner-up to Xixiang Luo in the 2024 APT Jeju Main Event. Sun collected KRW 257,880,000 (~$187,260) for second place from a 1,089-entry field, which remained his career-best cash until his return to Jeju in 2026.
Sun had already reached another major final table at APT Jeju 2026 before the Main Event began. He finished runner-up in the Mystery Bounty Hunter for KRW 84,119,200 ($62,775) after agreeing an ICM deal with eventual champion Daisuke Abiko.
His strong 2026 season began much earlier. In January, Sun finished third in the $13,000 Crown Hunt at the King Poker Cup Series in Jeju for $82,600, one of the biggest cashes of his career outside APT.
In March, he finished 15th in the $15,000 High Roller at Triton One Jeju for $71,400.
Sun then won the Monster Stack during Poker Dream 22 Jeju in May for KRW 74,700,000 (~$51,000).
His summer schedule included several events in Vietnam before returning to Jeju for the July K Poker Cup and King Poker Cup Series. Sun finished ninth in the High Roller for around $14,700 before winning the NLH Heads-Up event for approximately $7,400.
Sun also won the 2023 HSPC Huangshan Cup Main Event in Chengdu, China, earning CNY 800,000 ($111,136).
His WPT results include seventh place in the 2024 WPT Cambodia Championship at NagaWorld for $69,678.

Biography & Poker Background
Sun represents China, with The Hendon Mob currently listing his residence as Beijing.
His recorded live tournament history dates back to 2013, with some of his earliest results coming at Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham. He recorded several cashes in England during 2014 before later building the majority of his tournament resume across Asia.
Sun's first major Asian results included several deep runs during 2017 and 2018 before he won the WPT Cambodia Main Event Warm-Up at NagaWorld in 2019. He also finished runner-up in a WPT Cambodia High Roller Turbo later in the same festival.
After recording online World Series of Poker results during 2020 and 2021, Sun returned to the live circuit and won the HSPC Huangshan Cup Main Event in China in 2023.
His 2024 season included one of the strongest stretches of his career. Sun finished seventh in the WPT Cambodia Championship before reaching heads-up in the APT Jeju Main Event against Xixiang Luo.
He later competed extensively in Las Vegas, recording multiple WSOP cashes before returning to the Asian circuit.
Sun's schedule expanded further in 2026, with results across KPC, Triton One, Poker Dream, U Series of Poker, RDPT and APT festivals in South Korea and Vietnam.
His return to APT Jeju produced two runner-up-or-better finishes during the opening stages of the festival. After taking second in the Mystery Bounty Hunter, Sun returned to the Main Event final table two years after narrowly missing the same title and this time completed the victory.
He added two more cashes before APT Jeju ended, giving him more than $750,000 in recorded live earnings during 2026 alone.
Play Style & Strategy
There is limited published strategy material covering Sun's overall game, making it difficult to accurately define his playing style across his career. However, his comments following his APT Jeju 2026 Main Event victory provided insight into how his approach has developed.
Sun said he believed he had improved significantly since his runner-up finish in the same tournament two years earlier, particularly in his mindset and understanding of table dynamics.
He entered the 2026 final day as chip leader and received an immediate boost when his ace-king cracked the pocket kings of Shuang Qiu.
Sun remained comfortably ahead through the early stages before Ng eventually overtook him as the field was reduced to four players.
Sun reached heads-up against Ng at a 32 million to 21 million chip disadvantage but remained confident in the format. He credited regular heads-up matches against Xu Yang, also known as Boss Xu, in the months before the tournament with improving that part of his game.
One of the decisive heads-up pots saw both players connect with a queen. Sun flopped top two pair and improved to a full house on the river before moving all-in. Ng folded, but the pot moved Sun into a commanding lead.
Sun extended his advantage before the final hand, when his ace-four held against Ng's king-ten to secure the title after 90 hands of final-table play.
