China Poker Games is the largest brand touring mainland China and one of the only tours that hosts freezeout events in Asia. Founded in 2012, the brand hosts four types of festivals throughout the year: CPG City Satellites, CPG Tour, CPG Masters, and its flagship CPG Championship. These events are held in select destinations across the country, with a strong emphasis on promoting tourism through poker.
The most popular destination is Hainan Island where the CPG Championship, CPG Masters, and CPG Atlantis are held each year. In 2021, CPG celebrated its 10th year anniversary in Sanya Bay, attracting an astounding 4,406 Main Event entries for a prize pool of around $6.5 Million. This was nearly matched by the 11th CPG Championship with 4,080 entries for around $5.4 Million. While gaining a lot of attention among Chinese poker enthusiasts, CPG has been flying under the radar for international recognition so far.
Beyond Hainan, the annual CPG Tour Hengqin in Zhuhai benefits from its proximity to Macau and its array of world-class tourist attractions. Additionally, CPG offers a unique winter experience with its Chongli festival, combining poker and shredding snow.
