The Best Of CPG Championship Finals Sanya 2025

From start to finish, the Somuchpoker team was on the ground capturing highlights in photo and video of the 13th Annual CPG Championship Finals festival, held at the Howard Johnson Resort Sanya Bay, Hainan Island, China from August 20 to 30, 2025.

13th CPG Championship Highlights

Like past editions, the CPG Championship was not just a poker series - it was a mass celebration of the game and the community, with 99 events scheduled across ten days. Beyond the tables, the festival offered plenty for players, families, and friends to enjoy.

Before the festival officially kicked off, organizers took time to honor their staff for years of dedication and loyalty - a tradition in Sanya. This year, the highest recognition went to three employees marking a decade of service, each receiving a commemorative pin and plaque.

Off The Felt

With many players treating CPG events as part holiday and part poker, the experience extended well beyond the tables. Outside the poker rooms, players, families, and friends enjoyed a wide array of activities to keep them entertained.

• Poker lectures for players looking to sharpen their game

On the Felt

Throughout the festival, up to six events were offered daily plus satellites to marquee events. As always, all of the events were in Freezeout format. For phased events, they were Freezeout flights (repechage), allowing eliminated players to try again on the next starting day. Like the WSOP, only players registered for the events scheduled - on that specific day - were allowed entry to tournament areas. Here are some of the highlights:
